This is JMO, but if you're on Tier 7 Hard, I think it's about time to start learning to slide your hand up and down the neck. You might have made it that far, but the remaining Hard songs (and just about all of Expert) will eat you alive if you just try to reach for the buttons.

Re: Guitar Hero 3
I move my hand up and down, but thats not the problem. Then problem lies in trying to have my index finger be on red instead of green, and pinky on orange instread of blue. When i try this, I always revert back to putting my fingers on the first 4 buttons, while everyone here says that to master this game you need to have your fingers 1 fret below, with index on red. My question is, there ius no way for me to reach my index from red to green while keeping my pinky on orange, so how is this done, and how is it accomplished when there are red and green notes while keeping the pinky on orange? I have large hands (im 6'6") so i thought that might benifit me, but maybe its a problem?
either keep the index finger on green and then the rest of your fingers in the same order, or shift down....meaning the pinky will be either on blue or orange depending on whether you are going up or down the neck of the guitar. In other words, you cover either green, red, yellow and blue, or red, yellow, blue and orange.
I have been trying this with pretty good results, as my fingers arent long enough to be able to keep my hands stationary on a set of frets and using the index for just red and/or green; i have no choice but to resort to reposition my hand.Last edited by Bacardi151; 10-31-2007, 08:20 AM.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
I beat it on Hard last night. I played through the entire final tier in one sitting and after those songs, the battle, and the song during the credits, I thought my hand was going to fall off! Brutal stuff! I can't even imagine it on Expert . . . . but I will try that next.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
I finally beat it on expert yesterday...got lucky through Mosh 1 of Raining Blood only to lose at 91% in the song. After nearly breaking my tv, I rebounded to beat it and after a few tries beat Lou.
The song you win for beating it "Through the Flames and Fire" is INSANE.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
I've been playing with the controller. I know that's sac religious, but I'm just not willing to put out the money for the actual guitar controller.
Anyway, I've been running through the campaign on medium and have gotten as far as the battle against Lou, the devil thingy. I completely flopped and lost to himBeing kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

you owe it to yourself to play the game with the controller meant for it. Thats like playing a DDR game with the controller as well. There's no fun in that.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero 3
How do you play without the guitar? do use the stick to strum? what about the whammy? I would think playing with a regular controller would be almost impossible. At the very least unintuitive.www.simgamingnetwork.com Come join our leagues!
