I may up the difficulty, while some firefights are hard (if I get multiple guys at once, which should be hard for my thief guy), the rest aren't too bad. I'm only on default, so it may be time to bump it up and see how it goes.

So are most of you playing on normal (default)? Is it a worthwhile challenge or would you suggest starting at a hard level?

Is anyone having freezing issues? My game has unfortunately become unplayable due to constant freezes. I can't complete the Replicated Man quest because I can't go into and out of Rivet Cities middle deck with out it freezing

I've only played or default (Normal) level and It's hard enough for me. Especially when ammo isn't exactly growing on trees. I've ran away plenty of times....

I've thought about that too, but I won't do it. I've worked my character to kick arse, so I shouldn't have problems w/ anyone 1 0n 1, I do if they are in bunches though ,and use a bunch of stimpacks which i've paid for or stolen so I think it feels about right. By the end of the leveling I want my guy to feel more powerful than any one creature in the game.

Next playthrough I may bump it up to check it out, but since I'm now level 16 and worked for it I"m reaping the benefits.

I'm heavy on lockpicking, small guns, science, and unarmed....so I feel it's balanced really well. Next time I'll be heavy with big guns, barter, and a couple of others that I'm weak with and use totally different perks (which have also made my current character very strong)
Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.

Yeah, I'll probably just do that and up it next time.

I also doing what you did and going with an opposite character. Right now I'm lockpicking, sneak, small guns, speech. I'll probably look at science, barter, unarmed, and something else.

I played through on hard with my first character. I didn't really think it was frustratingly difficult so on my next play through I'll probably bump it up to the hardest level and see how that goes.

Finding Galaxy News Radio has become frustrating for me. Miles of tunnels and blocked streets have turned up squat for me.

You have to go into one of the sewers and follow the writing on the wall. If you make it your main quest there should be a dotted line telling you where to start on your map.

it can be confusing though...for the logest while I had no idea there were 'sewers' and kept trying to use the metro and got a little upset...that was just freeform trying to get somewhere though - which I've done more than any game in history.

First couple hours in the game it's all confusing and tough, but once you get the hang of the game it just clicks.

When using unarmed or melee weapons, if you level them up I assume they get to be pretty powerful per punch/hit? I've primarily used rifles and shotguns, so not sure how the others work.

Yeah, they become more powerful. Definitely pick one or maybe 2 weapon areas and stick with them though. You need to get one of those up to near 100 in order to be an effective dealer of death. Remember that you only go up to level 20, so once you hit that, no more new perks or new skill points (other than bobbleheads or books) so you can't be a powerful jack of all trades putting points into everything.

Oh, totally...I'd either go unarmed or melee, not both. Possibly some big guns, just to check them out more. That's why it'll be a 2nd character, my current guy is uber stealth and small guns, a loud melee or unarmed guy will be totally different gameplay.

WHen I made my character I just went with what I thought was the most fun.

I'm 100 heavy weapons. I walk around the waseland with a mini gun, flamer, missile launcher, fatman, power fist, and a laser rifle for ranged shots. I also use a TON of bottle cap mines and the nuka grenades. I'm a walking tank.

I like big explosions. I do a LOT of damage. I don't sneak, I don't bother. I just walk in and blow **** up.

Yesterday I walked into paradise falls and I killed them......I killed them all. I was like a Terminator. They kept running at me and died at my feet until there were none.

Next game I might go evil stealhty guy. But this game, I am a Holy Tank. I also took the lawbringer perk which is real nice. Coming up on 60 hours. I guess I should do some main quest huh?

Awesome! That's my point! For me my instinct is to be that stealth guy sniping and killing you before you get near me, but it's gonna be great going heavy with a rifle as needed. I'm also gonna be evil, killing more people randomly, especially since I'll have seen a lot of quests this play through.
