Yea it is not PER ROUND. For instance my 10mm Pistol does 6 damage, but my 10mm smg does 22 damage. They both use the same ammo. BUT if I target a enemy with the smg and use 1 action point which consist of a burst of ammo. It will do darn near the same damage as 1 action point from the pistol. Here is my take on it.

The smg damage of 22 is considered if every round in a action phase hits. Where the pistol is 1 round per phase. If that makes sense

UGHHH.....picked it up last night, love the game but I wasted 3 hours because I was running low on ammo so i decided to go back to Megaton to restock....and lets just say never do something questionable without having full or a very high HP..the automatic save hit me at the wrong time and now I gotta start over..luckily I wasn't deep into it

and you can also save tons of times too, in different slots if you wish. (I have 4 going on rotation)

yeah I have that...personally my fav is the power fist though (although you don't creat it) it's just so visceral in VATS I love finishing enemies with it, there is nothing more satisfying. The rail gun looks to have that same quality for me, fast blunt power that looks so brutal.

I also have the fat man, and have nuked 3 super mutants at once. It instantly kills anything in the game as far as I know (as it should, and the bloody amo costs at least 350 caps per round)

Yeah, I've got a rotation of 4 or 5 I'll be using. Just don't keep creating saves like I did in Oblivion, I did that and ended up with over a gig of them lol

I know what you mean, I did do that early because the save menu is a bit deceptive...the thing is I never use an old one, but the habbit itself keeps me honest enough that you don't get in a jam where you waste hours of gamming.

                Hey guys,
Just a quick question... I've been debating on picking this up. I was going to trade in the 09 football titles after work tomorrow (Madden,NCAA).

My question is this....does the game "immerse" you in the action and story?
I did enjoy Oblivion, and know that this is by the same company (Bethesda),so I was hoping to get that same level of "immersion" out of this title.

Any info is greatly appreciated. Oh yea....is the campaign pretty good length? or does it fall in line with Oblivion? Iirc...the actual storyline wasn't that long, but was made longer due to side quests and such.

                Thanks fellas
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

I'm incredibly immersed in Fallout 3. I'll think I've been playing for about an hour, look up, and it's been over 2 hours. I was just thinking that it's gonna take me a long time to complete the game. You really have to manage your resources, but it's fun scavenging and selling.

Don't hesitate to get this game. The more you play, the better it gets. Definitely one of the top games of 2008. Probably would get my GOTY vote.

Ok guys...I went ahead and picked this up today.
All I can say is...AMAZING!!!!! This game is absolute genious

I'm not that far into it yet, just got my "crib" in Megaton (or what ever the hell that place is called..lol) and I wanted to do some side missions to build my character up,so I took the "Super duper market" mission, and got my a$$ whooped by those hitmen...lol.

Any tips on what I should concentrate on leveling up first? I got that armor vault suit, and picked up the shotgun,as well as the land mines.

I can tell I'm going to absolutely LOVE this game, the graphics are gorgeous (for a wasteland..lol) and I can already feel myself being drawn in to the story. Like what was mentioned earlier...I'll probably hold off on the main story for awhile,as I don't want it to end......plus I need to do some serious leveling up so I don't get my a$$ kicked so bad...

Beat it last night.. Really messed up by not making another save near the end so I wasn't able to get the level 20 with good karma achievement... The ending sequence just sneaks up on you and by the time you realize "oh man, the end is coming", you're past the point of no return. I was legitly pissed because I saved past the point of no return..
