I mention this earlier in the thread. Read below.

So before you embark on what's clearly the final Quest, make sure you've wrapped up everything you care about. Also, be dillegent about saving (you can save anywhere and as often as you like)-you'll inevitably want to go back and retry a few things.

You also may have heard that the game has "thousands" of different endings, and while that's perhaps technically true, it's the ending of the story that delivers the big, worthwhile payout. The final cinematic and its many variations are nothing special, and from your last save, you can check out three or four versions of it. But only a rare few will replay the game in enough different ways to see more than that.

Just wanted to post that the game is still a blast to play after many hours in...
Taking my time and enjoying exploring with the occasional quest...

Me too. I finally did the Blood Ties one. Back to exploring. It will be forever until I'm done. I still don't want to stop playing every night but I have to force myself.

This is one of the best games I have ever played. Barely into the story, but just love playing it. Very sucked in to this one.

I need to find more sidequests, I really don't want to do the main quest yet.

              Be careful though...

I am avoiding the main story like crazy (just like oblivion), but I've also been exploring, and while exploring is satisfying to find these crazy places (drunk russian guy in the mansion anyone!), I actually skipped over a main quest by accident. The 'footsteps' quest was replaced by another one --- I believe you're asked to go to a radio station or something like that, and I never did, but I spoke to a certain character that had some info on the father and it opened up a new quest.

I suppose I could have not selected conversation trees that were about the father, I'm not sure... The thing is, I hope I only skipped over one main quest instead of a small chain of them.

In anycase I'm 25 hours In and think this is the best game this generation.

I did the exact same thing. Rivet City. The doctor. We accidently skipped Galaxy News Radio. I really wanted to meat 3 dog. Anyone know where he is? Could someone post where he is in a Spoiler?

wow, ...it's true. Do you think or know that it was only one quest we skipped?
At least I know i'll go through again as a total evil person, and at that point will do mostly central story quests.

Next time I play I'm going straight to the radio station to check it out.

Same here. I started off just exploring the waste, then did some of the story that took me to downtown DC, now I'm taking a story break and doing sidequests and just exploring again.

As I get further into it, I no longer have to run away from everything scary and I'm having even more fun. There are still a few things that make me run, but it's a blast to stroll into a bandit camp of 3 or 4 and take care of business in VATS before any of them know what's going on.

Yeah I am sure. I looked at my strategy guide and looked at the index for the Main Quest. We only skipped the one quest. Still that is enough. The EXP and etc that we missed. I hope it isn't to much.

Once you get the quest it's pretty simple to follow directions. Maybe I'm missing something but why is help needed? is it because now you won't actually get the quest?
Why not save it for a new play through which helps with the replay fun...

I'm just going with the flow and playing. If I find something then fine. As I replay it the next time I'll have new things to do

Because once you go to Rivet City and talk to the doctor, the Galaxy News Radio is replaced with Scientific Pursuits. Thats means that in your Quest Que Galaxy News Radio is not there and it no longer has the directions to how to do the quest.

Ok. So that would be a quest you can do the second playthough unless you're trying to get all missions played in one play through. I'd tell you in a spoiler but I can't remember. I can tell you tonight though if no one get's it posted.
