    Re: Fallout 3

It's crazy. I rented this game I think a month ago and I have had an urge to play it like no other.

I'm going to buy this when the price drops sometime in the future.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. The game is currently under my tree (my wife made me pick one and I regrettably chose Fable II) and I would like to avoid any random glitches once I tackle this beast in two weeks.

I got this game on release day but also got Fable and never really played Fallout 3 much. I guess i'll have to fire it up here since I keep hearing you guys laud it's merits.

Yeah it's a great game. My only complaint is with the lack of time i have to play it with life and other great games (R2, Nba 2k9 and College Hoops franchises for me at the moment) getting in the way.

I'm playing through as a "good" guy at the moment and i would imagine the game would be a bit more difficult if playing it as an evil character. Would anyone who has played as both say that?

I'm trying also to be a good guy. Their is also a problem for me as well getting it in the rotation. Finally playing Madden 09 online for the 1st time the past week and am lovin it. FARCRY 2, EA college ball, Gears 2, COD WAW, Live 09. Been trying to rotate them all equally and it is very hard. Not complaining. Peace!!!!!

Even with its faults (the "broken robot part" glitch in Big Town), there's just something about the environment, the dialogue, the "little things", if you will, that just makes me want to keep playing. For example, I can't stop listening to GNR, and the 40's era music really gives the game an ironic aspect not seen (or heard?) by listening to the original orchestral score. This is how you immerse your audience.

People have been complaining about the glitching, but I haven't seen any major, major stuff on my front. Just some weird NPC and graphics issues. The "broken robot parts" glitch, as said above, is almost unforgivable, though. But by no means is it gamebreaking. Hope they find a fix soon.
The only glitch i've come across is the game freezing in certain places, but it's not a 'given' it's almost like a higher tendency.

have no idea what the robot glitch is since i've been to big town and didn't notice it.

The only really 'bad' thing about the game is the radioscorpions (sp?) ... They are just like the bears in oblivion. They are harder to kill than supermutants later in the game which is just dumb. The scaling is better than oblivion, but it's still not ideal or perfect.

Having owned and played this and gta4 - I just don't see how gta4 can win the goty (even though it will) To me this is EASILY the game of the year.

This is one of those games that I only plan on playing for like an hour, but when I look at the clock it's been three. I've done a ton of exploring and knocking out missions outside of the main story. I've never been a big RPG guy but this game is amazing. I enjoyed Oblivion, but this ****s all over it.

oblivion was hot, I used to kill guards to collect helms, then put them in my house like trophies.

Should i get this on ps3 or 360?

                      How long is Fallout 3?

How many hours is the main storyline? Then how many hours is the side quests?

Whats the most hours you could get out of this game?

360 if you plan on wanting any future DLC, as it's a 360 exclusive.

If you do everything in the game and explore everything, the game could last 100 hours. Took me 70 and I missed only a couple of side quests, but I didn't explore every map location.
