    Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)

I heard the delays were caused by Nintendo needing more time to add the 3rd party characters into the game.

Only a few more weeks now, can't wait.

Yep it's soon here. And it's going to be a great game.

It got a 9.5 on IGN. This will be my first time owning a Smash Bros. game. Looks like it will be a lot of fun.

I just got done watching the video review at IGN, seems to be pretty solid. I'm real surprised there is no online leaderboard for online matches. I suck so bad at this game, I won't mind not seeing my poor winning % but I imagine the real competitve guys out there are going to hate this. Even Mario and Sonic Olympics has an online leaderboard for their offline game.

It's great that you can use the Gamecube controller for this game, that's definitely what I'm going to use.

Weird question, but I've never owned a past SSB game, only played them at friends. Is the single player actually fun? Or is this purely a game you play with friends? I don't know that much about it, and it seems like a must buy, but most of my gaming at home ends up being solo, so if it's only multiplayer fun I may hold off a bit.

The single player missions are just there to unlock the other characters...from the looks of things its more story driven than the original SSB games...is it fun? well if you like side scrolling monotony then this is for you...I for one dont care for it but its the only way to unlock the characters...

game is for multiplayer fun anyway...plus you can play online with this so it should be no problem if you dont have anybody around to play with

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll get it unless I get so wrapped up in The Show that I don't need another game this soon. Eh, I'll get it anyways just to play the Wii more lol

I read the full IGN review of this game, I'm pretty excited after reading it.

I wish they talked about the online aspect more, is there a connect-and-play option or does it all have to go through the friend codes?

According to the IGN review you don't have to touch the single player game if you don't want to and can unlock all of the hidden stuff via other means. That's certainly a good thing if the single player ends up being dull.

While I don't doubt the game is good, I can't place much stock in IGN's 9.5 rating since they have the exclusive review for now. Nintendo's not going to give them that right without a damn good score. I'll be curious to see how other sites/mags review this one.

I don't know the name of it, but some Japanese magazine gave this game a perfect score when it was released over there, something like the 6th or 7th game they had ever given a perfect score.

I see your point about IGN, but I also don't see any possible way Nintendo would let this game out the door without it being a substantial improvement over the last which was the most popular game on the Gamecube.

good...if i were to play the single player it would be just for ****s and giggles

dont care what they rate this game, i still have the old versions and still play it when friends come over. The four player mayhem is fun and pikachu's lighting from the sky clears em all out with one strike good times
