Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
Yea, I poked around online and I guess there are a few ways to unlock each character. I figured I would go through SSE just because none of my friends were around to give the multiplayer a whirl yesterday and without four people it's too slow to rack up match totals. SSE is brutally long and boring though, a real stinker of a mode IMO and it seems a lot of effort was put into it and its cut scenes.
Basically, you fight every boss enemy with each character, then you fight each character with each character, then you fight each boss enemy again with your choice of characters, then you fight a clone of each character, and that's where I am right now. Oh, and for the right to face clones and repeat bosses you have to search through a ridiculous maze of places you've already visited. It's horrible game design.
Fortunately the actual game, the multiplayer, seems perfect.
But you're right, the actually fighting portion of the game is spot-on, it remains insanely simple but there is a ton of depth with all of the characters and their different moves.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
This game is the first double-layer disc for the Wii and it is causing the game to not work on some consoles. Nintendo is repairing these consoles for free, but you will have to be Wii and SSB-less for a few weeks. Apparently it is caused by a dirty lens.

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
I just got done with some great online team brawls(with random people). It took maybe 5 or 10 minutes to find a game, but once I did, it was a blast. I love the fast-paced style online and I found a good group that kept on playing game after game, got in close to 10 games in 30 minutes. Great stuff, a ton of fun once I was able to connect with some people to play. I'm really impressed by the lack of lag.
Just like the previous poster, the Wii has been my secondary console since I"ve owned it with the exeption of SM Galaxy, but this game is amazing, I don't see myself going back to the 360 anytime soon.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
Anybody else finding it difficult to join a non-friend game online? I couldn't join at any point in the last hour, kept getting a disconnect error(with some error code). It's a blast and there is no lag when you do get into a game, but I'm finding it very difficult to get to that point, maybe I just need to populate my friends list and play friend games...Comment

For some reason it's not letting me connect to the internet. Maybe the security settings are weird or something.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
What control scheme do you guys reccomend between a gamecube controller vs. a wiimote w/ nunchuck? I've been using both so far, don't really have a preference. The only thing is sometimes I do smash attacks with the wiimote instead of regular attacks. On the flip side, not a huge fan of using the c-stick for smashes on the gamecube controller
Oh yeah, here is my SSB friend code: 2019-9367-6181. Everyone needs to post theirs, because I haven't been able to get in a regular online game yet.Last edited by ESPNdeportes; 03-10-2008, 09:47 PM."You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
I prefer the GC controller by a wide margin. Wireless is nice but I just love how the GC controller fits my hands. Plus, I'm just used to it from Melee and am resistant to change.Comment
