It's a top 5 party game for sure. It might be too crazy for none gamers the controls definitely allow of noobs to pick it up and get right into the action.

Same here, I've tried a few times but it always times out on me. Sounds like some first day Nintendo issues, hopefully it gets worked out.Comment

Sub Space Emissary brings the following words to mind: long, boring, grueling, repetative, etc. The cut scenes are kind of neat but how many times do I need to kill the same bosses?!?Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
Checked it out today at Gamestop. The controls were messed up for some reason cause they were set up fot the just the Wiimote and not with the nunchuck. Regardless though, the 15 minutes I spend with the game were very enjoyable. Definately makes me want a Wii again.I don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Soccer is the best sport on Earth, but most Americans are too ignorant to realize it. I am American.

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
I got into one online game last night, Team Brawl. I *think* the best way to join a game is to wait in the character selection lobby as long as it will let you, it never seems to work when you go all the way through to the practice/punching bag lobby. Online was fun, it was very responsive for me, no lag at all for me. I like the way the 2 v 2 team brawl is setup. If the time it takes to connect to a game decreases, I'm going to spend a ton of time playing this game online.
I like Meta Knight and Pit so far, but I've only played with about 1/3 of the total characters so far.Comment

I just discovered that you can bet your coins during spectator mode online. It's even possible to enjoy the game without even playing it. :wink:Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
Never played a Smash Bros game before, and for some reason this game just doesn't interest me! Can somebody fill me in what is it about this game that really "sucks you in"?
I've never really been into frantic button mashing fighting games, and that's kind of what this looks like from watching videos. I really wish the Wii had a demo system like the xbox so I could at least give it a try. My Wii has become pretty much just a party system for when my "non gamer" friends and family come over. I just don't see this as a game they would get into, so i'm not ready to plunk down my $50 yet.
I'm still stuck playing COD4 on my 360 religiously, so it will take a heck of a game to tear me away. Mario Kart is the Wii game i'm really looking forward too, but am I crazy for passing this up?LET'S GO FLYERS, YANKEES, DOLPHINS!!!Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
Super Smash Brothers might be one of the easiest to control, but most complex fighting game on the planet. The controls are so simplistic, but at the same time, they are so deep.
It's more of a party game, but online has helped that out to be a single player experience.
It's a must own game, and a game that will be played on the Wii until the next one comes out as Melee was for the Cube.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
So to play online, do you have to enter in Wii friend codes again or are the ones you already have in the system there? I don't want to have to enter all those codes a second time into this game.

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
I haven't started that mode yet, but the plus side is that you do NOT have to go through that mode to unlock everything in the game, they left multiple paths to open the unlockables which was a great move on Nintendo's part.

Basically, you fight every boss enemy with each character, then you fight each character with each character, then you fight each boss enemy again with your choice of characters, then you fight a clone of each character, and that's where I am right now. Oh, and for the right to face clones and repeat bosses you have to search through a ridiculous maze of places you've already visited. It's horrible game design.
Fortunately the actual game, the multiplayer, seems perfect.Comment

It's not like a fighting game really. At least, it's not similar to like Dead or Alive or Soul Calibur or something like that. It's completely different. And like the others said, the controls are simple for the pick up and play and novice players, but deep and intense for the experienced players.
It's awesome. Definitely check it out. It's very addicting.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
