After that, though, it magically went back to normal (3 days to them, 3 days back to me) and it's been pretty much fine ever since (I do still occasionally have a game take a couple extra days to them). It could have all been coincidence, but I have my doubts.
I hate to use a conspiracy theory with them, but Netflix was said to do something similar at times a few years ago once you were a member for a few weeks to months. I would think by today that they would have received what I sent.

      Re: Gamefly?

After 8 days, I report it as a shipping problem. They take the game off your "at home" list and ship the next game in your "q". When they get they'll let you know. I'm in Chicago and I get my games in about three days.
Boy this habit is as bad as dope!!!

It took 4 business days for them to receive my game back. I just started using this this month seeing as Blockbuster charges $10 a game now for 5 days. I don't think I'm going to get any of the the games in My Q for awhile since that game took till today to get back. The new releases are already on low availability.

In my experience, the noted availability doesn't mean a damn thing. I've had games noted as available that didn't ship, I've had games with low availability ship immediately and I've had games with high availability sit unshipped for days.

I've been using Gamerang for a month or two. It's pretty good to be honest. Fast shipping both ways. Decent site. Plus, I've been getting games I want which is always nice.

I would love to hear more feedback about them as first glance seems to show really good availability for many games that show next to no availability over at Gamefly.

                Re: Gamefly?

I had Gamerang before I had Gamefly and it was horrible, it was consistantly as bad as the worst it has been with Gamefly (taking up to about 4 days to ship a game for an empty slot). This was also 5 years ago, so things could have definitely changed. Shipping was also slower than Gamefly, and this was back when Gamefly's only shipping center was in LA and Gamerang was in New Jersey (IIRC).

Gamefly is ok. I live in a city where they have a distribution center so I tend to get games fairly quickly. However, the main problem with gamefly is you never seem to get the top games on your list. Even if they've been out for a while, you tend to not get the games you really want. They need to purchase more games to have in stock.

This. I am of the same opinion, though I'm not sure if it's that they need to start buying more copies, or if they need to stop selling them so cheap right away. Right now, new releases, I can get for 30% off retail the day they come out. I can keep 3D Dot Game Heroes for $28 and I had it in my hands the day after release.

Got an email saying they shipped out Red Dead this morning. Got Heavy Rain shipped in two days as well, so far so good. We'll see once I have to ship games back to them.

Love Gamefly. It's been the best money I've spent in gaming probably ever. I started with the "one game out" plan, now I do 3. I get new releases shipped to me at launch every time. Like Poster RDR is on it's way as we speak. 2 days shipping without fail.

I've had it a year and I couldn't be more impressed. I save so much money not having to buy crappy games that give you 8 hours play time. Now I play em over the weekend and send 'em back. No buyers remorse, no guilt, no forcing myself to like a game. If it sucks, it's outta here. Love it!

Yeah, I think I'm going to re-subscribe to GF. It really does make a lot of sense because I buy a lot of games and some of the time, those games suck and I'm out of 60 bucks. Besides, GF gives good deals if you want to keep the games as well. I shouldn't have left, but now I'm going back.

@Jistic How long did you have to keep RDR at the top of your queue to get in on release day?

I am starting to think I will feel the same way, not sure why I didn't look into this sooner. I almost asked you about it a time or two. :-)

I don't mind waiting a day or two for a new game, and it may let me try different types of games as well. Seems you just need to make sure you have an open queue slot and no other available listed games inside to ensure you get new releases. Seems to be the case anyways.

I just signed up. Do you think that I could add RDR to my queue and get it in a couple of days. Like Wed or Thurs? I have a feeling they're all going to be rented out at this point.

What I do for new releases is simply have a spot empty the weekend before the game drops. They always, 100% so far ship it Monday and I get it Wednesday. If you can wait one extra day you'll always get the new releases.
