That's odd. I suppose jumping around wouldn't be a key component. Is there a contextual button that allows for this situationally (similar to Gears of War or Mass Effect, for example)?

Looks like when the situation arises, you do some actions automatically like climb a pole, ladder, or jump over a counter by running/walking towards it. Not a big deal to me, but just found it awkward and had to adjust to it right away.

That's pretty odd IMO. I wonder what made them take out the jump button.

Why put in a jump button at all? This isn't an action game.

I'm with Cowherpower, Beantown, BK, etc. I'm not sure what MP would be like in a game like this and why anyone would want to play it. However, I must say that I've never gotten into MP online games. I could careless about repetitive death-match, capture the flag, etc. type games. The just seem boring and meaningless to me but, different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

With that said I still buy Halo, Gears of War & COD. I usually just go through the campaign mode with my GF (with the exception of COD). Even though all of the story modes are less than 10 hours it's still worth it to me because we'll play them multiple times. I also get tired of games quickly. I got about 30 hours into RDR and I just couldn't play it anymore. Don't get me wrong it was a great game but, anything over 25 hours is too much for my Dayman like attention span. Especially, with so many other great games out there.

Anyway, you lucky bastards have fun tonight and tomorrow. I won't get my grubby little hands on it until tomorrow afternoon so, have fun for me.

Yeah why not go all out and take out the sprint button too.

Seriously though I haven't played the game yet so I don't know how well it works, but I would usually like to decide when I jump or not.

It's not an action game, why put all the time and effort into programming a jump command, the extra animation of the "anywhere" jump, all the map editing/testing, etc when it's completely unnecessary?

Hopefully in a couple of days there will be a nice sale on this game. This is the one game that I wanted to pre-order but can hold off for a few days after release to wait for a nice sale.

Oh yeah its not a shooter either so might as well take away the shooting mechanics. Can't have anything distracting Bondi and R* from beefing up that story mode.

I think there is a good chance you will see this game somewhere for $49.99 in the next two weeks.

So because you've got a bug up your *** about jumping they should have cut stuff from the story mode?

                              Nonsense.

There's no point to jumping all the time so there's no reason to program it.

BTW, you can't shoot any time you want either.

speaking of shooting, the shooting controls are tight and well done, IMO. It's obviously not a shooter so the shooting mechanics are pretty easy.
