Damn CowherPower, Preach brutha preach!!! I understand what you are trying to get across and most I do agree. People can sleep on this game if they want too, they will surely miss out on what I feel is gonna be GOTY and if not it sure as hell is GOTY material. PEACE!!!This is what happens in the "online multiplayer age"....if a game doesn't have a mp component,it gets pushed to the side and you get the "no replayability" and "to repetitive" comments.
This game would not work with a mp component (imo) so therefore there is none, and for the record this game DOES have replayability in that if you don't get 100% on the case, sure you still may be able to solve it.....but with a game like this if you just "skim" through it,I feel so much of it will be lost.....I'm sorry, but saying you beat a game in 10 hrs when it's projected to be longer is YOUR decision, not the games.....the need to "rush" through a single player game seems to be the "cool" thing to do.
As far as "repetitive" goes....this has to be thee WORST excuse when it comes to a game...name 1 game that isn't repetitive...hell life is repetitive,so I'm not sure how people expect a game to be any different and actually dock points or better yet use it as a games downfall.....to me this would indicate life is a downfall as well then, and maybe we should "dock" points for life. The poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Sure I do...but that's sorta a stretch to compare it to a SP video game. I'm pretty sure the majority of humanity would call this game more repetitive than life itself.So...you don't do the same thing every day?
1-get up
2- go to work
3-come home
4-eat dinner
5-watch a little tv talk to the wife/gf
6-go to bed
7- wake up and rinse and repeat
It has nothing to do with the way I live,it's called reality. I guess you must have the most exciting life ever to where it's not repetitive...congratulations.
Regardless if MP (In your Opinion) would work with this game, it would have made me buy it rather than rent it. I'll beat it, then get rid of it. Nothing to do after you've beaten it. Not baggin the game at all...it's gonna be a great SP experience, but after that...done.Comment

Thanks for playing, everything you said here confirms what I said earlier.Sure I do...but that's sorta a stretch to compare it to a SP video game. I'm pretty sure the majority of humanity would call this game more repetitive than life itself.

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I'm not complaining about this game at all...for what it is it's goin g to be awesome. And honestly I couldn't care less there is no MP...just don't see why people say they don't want it. I'd prefer games to have MP aspect to them.Comment

Where did I say no one else can have opinions??....nice attempt to try and put words in my mouth.
What I mentioned you disagreed with, but then it was shown (by you) exactly what I said was true....so you can try and spin in any way you like.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I think that's a poor characterization of what most people would call repetitive in a game though. You listed broad generalizations of a typical day, but it's what happens (or what you do) within those parameters that can make things feel repetitive or boring.So...you don't do the same thing every day?
1-get up
2- go to work
3-come home
4-eat dinner
5-watch a little tv talk to the wife/gf
6-go to bed
7- wake up and rinse and repeat
It has nothing to do with the way I live,it's called reality. I guess you must have the most exciting life ever to where it's not repetitive...congratulations.
A lot of people, for example would toss in a date night with the wife/GF instead of TV all the time, for a simple example. The overarching routine of each day might vary little, but the approach to each aspect can change.
The same can be said for games. I am a SP only type of guy (in part for reasons BK mentioned, but also because I am a story/substance over mechanics guy, and MP doesn't deliver well in that area as a rule) but that doesn't mean that I don't expect a bit of variety in my game play experience when it works.
An easy example (from a personal standpoint, obviously mileage may vary and all that) is Alan Wake. I enjoyed the story, but did not like the game. Why? The game play elements to move you from plot point to plot point felt so unvaried. Left alone in the dark, shine light, shoot, next. I felt like I was slogging through mindless repetitiveness in order to get to the payoff-the plot. I actually just gave up and read the plot summary so I didn't have to play through the game to get it. The mechanics weren't bad, it's just that they didn't vary much and there were long parts were it really just felt thrown in to move you to the next plot point.
In terms of LA Noire, I would not call having to question suspects and find clues repetitive as they are core aspects to what the game is trying to achieve. I will, however, find it repetitive if all the cases play out in a similar fashion or have similarly developed characters or focuses.
That's not to say that any of this will be the case. Personally, I can't wait to play the game. I just think you're looking at "repetitiveness" in a much broader respect than people who would typically make such a claim.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I already stated why I didn't want mp. MP games on the Internet bring out the worst in people. Whether it's a 12 yr old who's balls haven't dropped yet screaming obscenities in to the mic or some douche with Internet muscles spouting racial insults or some assbag glitching his way to success I just don't have the time nor the patience. At my age I get tired of people using the anonymity of the Internet to give them the courage to say things to me that they never would in real life.
MP games can suck it as far as I am concerned.
Excuse all the weird spellings using the iPad.Last edited by bkrich83; 05-16-2011, 08:59 PM.Comment
