Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I was just told that my mother is not buying this for my birthday at the end of the month. I just traded in enough games to get L.A. Noire. Tomorrow is going to kick ***.Rose City 'Til I Die

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I also don't see the whole no replay value thing, but maybe that's just me. It's no different than watching a movie for a second or third or fifteenth time - you know the story already but you pick up on different things you may have missed or not been paying attention to.
With this, you pick up on a character's reaction and pick a different route to take and suddenly the entire case goes differently, even if it ends with a similar situation.
Who knows, might just be me.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Quoted from an actual, you know, review: "Depending on how much time you devote to exploring the city, it will take anywhere from 12 to 20 hours to beat. Many won't find a reason to return."
Now you can take issue with this statement all you want (I can't because I have not played it), but I ask that you please refrain from accusing me of not reading any reviews. But if you want to, please continue to make a fool of yourself and cite your bias confirmed reviews that make you feel good about the purchase. I'm not questioning that it will be a great game, but if I'm done in 15 hours and there's nothing left to do (I'm not solving the same mysteries again), well it just isn't worth $60 dollars to me. I'll spend $10 down the road and get the same enjoyment out of it.Comment

And unless you do everything perfect the first time through, you can still do all the cases and look for clues you missed.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Yep, easily the best review I've read of the game and he doesn't spoil anything but goes very in depth with the mechanics of the game. This Kotaku video is rather excellent.
Brad's review is great. He explains the detective elements better than anybody else.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

That's the only, actual, review I've seen say anything like that.Quoted from an actual, you know, review: "Depending on how much time you devote to exploring the city, it will take anywhere from 12 to 20 hours to beat. Many won't find a reason to return."

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I am in the same boat. I just don't have that kind of attention span. If I finish the game, I just move on to the next one. There are plenty of games out there I haven't had a chance to play yet.I also don't see the whole no replay value thing, but maybe that's just me. It's no different than watching a movie for a second or third or fifteenth time - you know the story already but you pick up on different things you may have missed or not been paying attention to.

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Over the years I've learned that replay value is one of the most worthless review points for a game because that is very subjective. I've played through games 3-4 times doing the same exact missions. If its a good game that I enjoy, I'll play this bitch over and over again.
