That's definitely the case for the vast majority of games today and if there were a poll people would say it takes away the replay factor for any game.

Now, for a game like this I just imagine a sandbox type game like GTA, or RDR...plenty of people play those games online a ton...so it obviously has legs.
    Obviously you do care.

Not to mention the time and resources required. Mp adds literally nothing to this game other than to give people something to complain about.

Yeah, I think LA Noire, while certainly more linear, will offer some replay value simply based on the fact that you only get one save file that apparently autosaves prevents you from simply reloading if you flub stuff up. So while the end result might be roughly the same, the paths to get there can vary (kind of what I was alluding to in my early post about repetitiveness).

All that said, if the story and means to execute working through it are done well enough, I'll come back regardless of new content. I played Mass Effect 1&2 about a million times combined and love it to death. Like someone said earlier, it can be like a good movie in that respect. I'm a story driven gamer though, so I know a lot of people don't necessarily feel that way.

I think the beef a lot of people have with MP is that its added in games where it really isn't needed or companies are simply focusing on MP now instead of putting forth effort, creativity, and molding a truly memorable and game-changing SP. I mean, a lot of SP nowadays are bland as hell. Saying MP doesn't take away from the SP experience is ridiculous because it definitely takes something away - at the very least it restricts the potential of a great SP experience.
Well said. Exactly my feelings on MP.

Mp gaming is ruining video games IMO. If mp gaming where ti go away I'd be just fine.

A super deep game that makes you think is just what the industry needed IMO.
I agree with that the SP component for most games is lacking and in Shooter games for the most part. I never even touch FPS SP now. The only reaosn I get FPS game is to play online these days. But I get games this, and Heavy Rain, GTA, RDR, etc, for the SP. And a few of those had MP in them and the SP was still fantastic.

Being 29 years old growing up on Atari , Nintendo , SNES ect ect....MP isn't that big of a deal to me. I seem to remember a time where games could be played over and over because all resources were focused on one thing SP. I'll be damned if I wasn't playing games over and over as recently as xbox or ps2.

Give me a strong SP experience with depth any day of the week. MP is only fun if your playing with people you know for me. Also that mute button point is a cop out.

It's funny that people will complain that a video game doesn't offer MP. Yet will go out and buy movies on DVD or Bluray.

It eliminates the ability to use any sort of teamwork. Simply running around playing deathmatch does nothing for me.

That's fine. You being the key word there...for countless others it does exactly what it's supposed to do. I really can't remember the last time I hooked up my mic for any MP game when I wasn't playing with friends and I have never had an issue with anyone talking.

I think we can end this agreeing you hate MP games. That's about all that came of this.
