I never got into sniping. I use the m16 a lot and it just as accurate with the red dot site. As long as I can see a dot or some movement it gives me a chance to get them.

I like the ACOG scope with the M16...I prefer the grip for the LMG's, rather than use the sight I'll just shoot from the hip more (my LMG use is more up close, I specialize).

It's awesome how everyone can prefer little tweaks and the guns are still good...most games don't give you this customization

A few things that help (some of this has already been stated, if it's listed here consider it me consigning)

        1) The gun's fire rate. It helps to the weapons in which you can fire with very little delay between shots. Don't focus on one shot kills, focus on firing until +10 shows up on your screen.
        2) The gun's recoil. When I got the Dragunov, I immediately upgraded and started shooting horrible. Reason being, every time you shoot, your sight jumps like 10 feet in the air. Its recoil is HORRIBLE compared to the M21 but supposedly it causes more damage. But I have more luck with the M21. I just unlocked the R700 so I will try that out tonight.
        3) If the target is moving sideways you have to lead him. This will take a lot of skill and even more luck, especially if you don't get them with one shot.
        4) If you have a UAV Jammer (which I strongly recommend), do not stay with your group. Odds are your teammates do not have a UAV jammer, and all it takes is for one dot to attract enemies to you. And you'll always have some newb sniper who wants to share your sniper spot with you. Do yourself a favor find another spot.
        5) Ditch your secondary weapon the instant you come across a dead soldier's primary weapon. You should be able to find one within the first 2 mins of the match. Don't use the overkill perk because you'll have to lose the UAV Jammer. You will have to deal with close combat
        6) Once you start shooting, your position is revealed on the map. If you haven't taken out your opponent in 7 seconds of the first shot, use your own judgement but know that someone probably has you in their crosshairs by then.

I just got 100 kills with the Druganov Sniper rifle...the ACOG scope is nice since theres no more shaking while aiming in scope mode

just play free for all and just run and gun with that baby

make sure you have martyr as one of your teir

might only work for PC only since there are more players online...so easy to rank up

It takes a while to get used to. And don't a expect high # of kills your first 20-30 games doing. In fact don't expect a high # of kills period, just try to get a high K/D ratio.

i know this is a dumb *** question, but I still play R6 like it came out yesterday. Should i cop this. Is it as realistic as R6. I absolutely hate Halo 3 online (jumpfest, a million shots to kill). Would i like this for multiplayer?

Yep. There are a couple minor things that are a little arcadish, but it is more fun than R6 and Halo.

Thanks for all of the pointers, iLLosophy. I'll keep practicing and hopefully learn the levels more in order to figure out where the best sniping spots are.

I really don't like how you can't switch which 'shoulder' you're looking over, like you can in third-person shooters.

That'd be nice but, in games like that you can take cover, pop up when somebody runs by.
That sucks IMO, because you in real life you cannot take cover, and look behind your head at the same time. It's a nice change that there is no cover button. Reminds me of Counter-Strike. And gives you more control, not automatic actions.

Agreed, gives a more realistic depth to it but I wish you could lean & peak over ala Socom.
