    Re: Mass Effect Discussion

Please forgive me if this has been answered already but I am confused. I just finished the game last nite (I wanted to cry it was so good) and I immediately went to create a new Sheppard for my 2nd run through. The "new" Sheppard is a totally different class (and background). I did notice that I was able to "add" a weapon to the mix which was nice but my level started back at 0. What gives? I thought on your second playthrough you got to keep your stats...did I do something wrong?

I still have my last save from the previous playthrough so I can repeat if necessary - I just need to know what to do. Please help!

When you create a "new" Shepard you don't keep any old stats...You can either create a new character, or create a new game using an existing character. When you make a new game using an existing character you keep your stats, etc. You can't change your character class and background of a current character.

Well I sat down around 2pm yesterday to play a little Mass Effect while I cooked lunch. At about 1am I finally had to turn it off and go to sleep because my eyes hurt. I missed going to dinner with my folks. I missed going out with my buddy to watch MNF.

One more quest...one more mission...or this one won't take that long. Absolutely sickening.

Just drags you in, exactly how KOTOR was. And lunch wasn't burnt was it?

That's what happened to me on Friday last week

I started playing at 5 PM- next thing you know, I see the sun rising.

This game is just amazing. I didn't think they'd be able to make a story as compelling as KotOR, but I was wrong.

I just found some system that I never saw before and I went onto some ship and out of nowhere these husks started coming from all sides. When I first went onto the ship I didn't see anything around or any red dots on the map so I thought that I had been on the ship before and just forgot, then I walked around a corner and the whole room is filled with these things. It scared the **** out of me.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

No it's completely different. That one was with all of the crazy patients. This one was a ship that had gotten close to the veil, found some weird artifact, and then were all turned into husks as a warning from the geth to organic life.

Wow level 60 is tough to get to. From 59 to 60 is something like 200,000 in XP.

Yeah I did that one, that one was fun. Basically it was like a haunted ship in space.

Do systems pop up after you do certain things? The first time I played through I didn't do too many side quests but I've done as many as possible this time and that system showed up out of nowhere.

Good question. I know some systems only show up after you finish part of a quest line (like the Geth Incursions).

Does anyone know if the only way to get the Batarian codex entry by creating a character with the Colonist background?

There are definitely some systems that pop up as you do missions..a few pop up after Virmire at the very least.

I have the Batarian entry and I don't have the colonist background.

Don't fall in love with the map when looking over the planets though, theres usually 2-3 anomalies/rocks that don't show up on the map but show up on your radar.
