I realize I'm late to this party (had to let school finish up), but this game ROCKS. I was feeling a bit cautious before buying, with christmas coming up and limited money, but damn am I glad I did. This game just kills KOTOR (granted this game has the advantage of coming out years later, but still). I got the game at about 2 yesterday, got home, played it until 4 in the morning. Luckily the girlfriend is away for most of the weekend.

You get a nice N7 gamer pic for beating the game on insanity. I wish more games would give you a pic for beating them on the hardest level. N7 being the code for special ops in game I think

Remember it is just Asari. There are no men. The "father" would be another Asari woman.....lol. I remember that convorsation with Liara, about her being a "pure breed"(i think that is what she called it).

Just beat the game: 61 hours, at lvl 50, completed all but a few sidequests, loved every second of it...But I do have one complaint...

                    Rant:

The final boss fight left a lot to be desired. If this were Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six that last fight against Saren would have been outstanding; but this is an RPG, so I expected so much more.

After investing 60 hours into stopping the forces of evil, when I went into that final confrontation I expected that last boss to give me the fight of a lifetime; the kind of fight that goes through phases of complexity, forces you to use multiple strategies, and exhausts you of both physically and emotionally; but the final fight was surprisingly short and incredibly simple.

At first I thought maybe long, drawn-out final battles are just something that must be sacrificed in order to have real-time combat in an RPG, then I remembered Final Fanasty 12 and Star Ocean both had incredible final battles. In Star Ocean I fought that machine for the better part of an HOUR in one sitting before I emerged victorious; that's right, it took an hour of non-stop, real time fighting to beat that boss. In FF12 almost every strategy that I learned during the course of the game was needed for that final boss, and I spent atleast 30minutes constantly switching between party members, constantly changing strategies, constantly screaming at my TV as the tide of the battle shifted back-and-forth.

I beat Saren in about 8 minutes...There is nothing epic about an 8 minute fight...

Once it was over I was like, "That's it? That's all you got for me? I've chased you all over the galaxy for 60 hours and this is the best you could do?"...Yea it was an intense battle, but when you've played RPG's that have hour-long boss fights, then you play M.E. (and Oblivion) and beat the final boss in under 10 minutes using only one strategy, the experience of finally defeating your arch-nemesis feels a bit shallow.

...But other than that, great game...Can't wait for DLC

I hope they actually release DLC instead of keeping that stuff down their at the bottom of the screen like Fable.

I have a feeling that they wont make big DLC, I say you will see maybe new weps, side quest, and maybe get to explore Earth.

I understand your complaint, and I'd like a longer, more epic battle as well...

That being said I will say that I haven't played a 1 hour long boss battle that wasn't completely repetitive and didn't feel un-fun or cheap. It's near impossible for them to make a battle that long and keep it fresh. I haven't played the 2 games you mentioned, but I personally despise the games that make you fight for an hour and it's the same loop: Hurt enemy to certain point, they heal or "evolve" to another type, go back to step 1. After 20 minutes it ceases to be fun or "epic" and is just repetitive.

Exactly. I do have to say that the parts leading up to the meeting with Saren(having to fight those damn turrets) were harder than the actual fight. I didn't die once at the end.

I agree, and I also wish the final fight was tougher/longer...I'm also just not a fan of the typical RPG hour long battle...

I'm not sure exactly how you get a battle that long and not be the same thing over and over.

You had to use those 1 shot then your gun overheats rounds. I think the turrets died with like 3 shots with my pistol. The rounds were awsome in taking out turrets and geth collosus. They did how ever suck in fire fight.
