So I went to get Mass Effect the other day and it was quite the adventure. I went to E.B Games with high hopes, expecting to get a great game!

I was waiting in line minding my own business when some guys told me mass effect was gay! They started making trouble and pushing me around. I got in one little fight and my mom got scared and said you're moving with your aunte and uncle in bel-air!

I whistled for a cab and when it came near the licensplate said fresh and had a dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare, but I thought no forget it, yo home to bel-air!

I pulled up to a house about seven or eight and I yelled to the cabby yo, home smell you later! I looked at my kingdom I was finally there to settle my throne as the prince of bel-air!

Nah, we're talking about 2 different sections then because the codex section I'm talking about definitely has a picture and summary of all the noncouncil races you run into in the game. For example, hanars, volus, krograns, etc. It's even narrated by the voice-over.

I've seen both sections and there are no batarians. I was talking about the secondary section of the codex, the batarians weren't in either one.

If you get the scholar achievment, I'm 100% sure they are definitely in the codex. I remember thinking I didn't see that entry my first playthrough and I remember being interested in the summary because I never actually saw them in the game. I'm 99.9% sure there is a picture of them, but I'll have to wait 'til I get home from work to check. I'm absolutely positive there is a codex entry for them.

I haven't finished the novel, maybe it covers it there, but why the total disappearance of batarians from the game? If it is a story related coincidence, I guess I will find out soon (I'm about to finish the novel).

Quick question. The novel hasn't addressed this, not sure if the game does. Since we humans are the newest member of this galactic society, how come everyone speaks our language?

Was answered on the bioware forums, something about all speech being translated by computers in real time to the language you understand.

My 360 died. 3 rings of death.

No more Mass Effect until I get it fixed. Do I just call XBOX?

In the early 2160s, the Alliance began aggressive colonization of the worlds in the Skyllian Verge, much to the dismay of the batarians who had been developing the region for several decades. In 2171, the batarians petitioned the Council to declare the Verge a "zone of batarian interest." The Council refused, however, declaring the unsettled worlds in the region open to human colonization.

In protest, the batarians closed their Citadel embassy and severed official diplomatic relations with the Council, effectively becoming a rogue state. They instigated a proxy war in the Verge by funneling money and weapons to criminal organizations, urging them to strike at human colonies.

Hostilities peaked with the Skyllian Blitz of 2176, an attack on the human capital of Elysium by batarian-funded pirates and slavers. In 2178, the Alliance retaliated with a crushing assault on the moon of Torfan, long used as a staging base by batarian-backed criminals. In the aftermath, the batarians retreated into their own systems, and are now rarely seen in Citadel space.
