You can zoom in with the mako gun/cannon up to two times by holding the left trigger(to zoom) and then clicking the right thumbstick twice, which makes it a lot easier to kill the geth. You can be farther back and it zoom in and it gives you more time to dodge the missiles.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -

Also, I move laterally with the Mako back and forth when I'm trying to avoid taking damage and shooting from a long distance. Especially the rocket launchers -- they totally can't get to you from that distance if you just move carefully and patiently and time your shots with the cannon.
So drive at a 90-degree angle to them and then rotate your turret towards them and use left and right on the L-stick to just go back and forth while keeping your turret trained on the targets. I had a hard time with the cannon timing -- just keep in mind trajectory... if you're moving forward at a decent rate, then aim behind the target, etc.
I hated the Mako combat at first, but aside from those times when you're backing up by mistake (facing forward of course), I've been really enjoying it lately. The cannon is serious for taking out snipers -- much easier than trying to snipe them back (unless you're maxed out).Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
If anyone doesn't like the Mako combat, they shouldn't use the Mako except for this purpose. Snipers are the only thing that pose a threat when you're on foot. When I'm assaulting a Geth position, I take out the snipers and then go on foot. Armatures, Collossi, and turrets don't stand a chance to circle-strafing.
It's a win-win situation. It's much more fun on foot and you get twice as much xp for killing things. I got 3000+ xp for killing one turret. I always go on foot. Trying to get to level 60 from scratch is going to take every little bit of extra xp I can get. It doesn't look like I'll make it though.Comment

Say, did anyone make use of the high explosive rounds? I figured they might be good against turrets, armatures, and colossus, but were impractical in fire fights because of the heat output.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
Money shouldn't be a problem at the end of the game if you do a good number of side missions and survey planets and metals. Just be sure to sell off the stuff you don't use or need.
You get medi gel from dead enemies, crates, and you can replenish near Dr Chakwas in the Normandy. You can't buy it.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Discussion
I 100% support this post. It's exactly what I went through. I sucked with the Mako and disliked it, but once I learned how to orient myself 90 degrees, aim and fire like that, it helped immensely. Also, I move laterally with the Mako back and forth when I'm trying to avoid taking damage and shooting from a long distance. SpoilerI don't think Charm matters. I tried to turn her down and she still put em on the list.

Re: Mass Effect - Impressions
this has to be where you're looking for that Dr. I got to that part this morning and after the cutscene and am immediately in front of the enemies and I die instantly. I didn't save before it and have to start that whole level over. One kinda frustrating part for me...I'm on a planet, walk up to some warehouse type thingy, goes to a cutscene where some enemies appear, and then I'm in the middle of a firefight with no hope of keeping any of my teammates alive...They are dumb and immediately get shot, and then it's me against a bunch. Maybe I'm the only one who's seen this type of behavior, but I've got a save just before the cutscene and I'm hoping (i'm on my 10th try right now) that I can somehow not die.
*edit* Eventually they find cover...just not 100% happy with the AI's decisions...they die way too easily sometimes
Part of it was my fault...but they're still not all that good at staying alive...especially if there's a "big gun" that's tough to beat. Just use cover and hope they're not idiots."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Yeah, I just got better at the game and using my teammates, but I also am very diligent at saving...you never know what's gonna happen.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment
