I am most of the way through the police station now. I have to get into the morgue now is last objective so far. I did all the side missions about Megan and Tillman. So I spent those aug points on these upgrades so far.

1 - Invisible Cloaking
1 - Stealth Enhancement level 1 (seeing sound distance)
1 - Hacking level 2

Next 2 augs I have planned already

1 - Extra energy cell
1 - Slower energy drain for cloaking

Cloaking has come in really handy in the police station so I am really enjoying the stealth route I am going down. I am not sure how I will fair in the boss battle but since I have yet to use a lethal measure of any sort I have plenty of equipment to deal with whatever it might be. Plus plenty of Whiskey if the need arises

I talked my way into the police station. The only place I wasn't welcome was the Armory.

Punching through walls would be cool to have, I am just not sure how often that I would use that ability.

That would of been nice lol.

I had to sneak in and then sneak around entire department avoiding everyone the whole way through. So luckily I had cloak because there has been a couple areas where it has come in really handy. I have broke in just about every office. Hack level 2 has come in really handy there.

Interesting side note, I have only failed one hacking attempt and that was the hacking to save the hostages. I didn't know if it detects your presence it dumps the gas automatically. But every hack attempt since, I have passed. I plan my actions based on the % of detection and use Nukes, worms, and speed to beat the system. I have had some close calls with less than 2 seconds left before kicked out system but other than that I have got through every hack first attempt.

I am thinking I am going to go a mix of Stealth + Hacking in this play through. Some stealth abilities mixed in with some high level hacking. It seems like high level hacking will really pay off for some big credit amounts, aug points and different equipment.

It gets you into hidden areas/shortcuts. I have not used it yet to take someone out.

This seems like a must have game?? Reading all these impressions have really peaked my interest hmm.

Anyone have any idea how long this game is?

Honestly not that bad. I just avoid a lot of gun fights. The weird thing for me was watching the Giant Bomb Quick Look. I assume he's playing on normal because everything that you can interact is highlighted, there are way points for your objective displayed on your HUD, and just a few other little interface things. Also, I had to go back in an turn on my targeting reticule for when I'm firing from the hip.

Great I'm on a mission that requires the Icarus landing system Augmentation, I have 1 but not the 2 that is required.

Just picked me up a copy at Gamestop and have no clue what I need to do. Think I'm gonna go get the strategy guide and do some reading.

Avoid the camera and take out that guard silently, some good stuff in the armory and nobody ever goes back there so it's pretty safe.


Best gun in the game might just be the 10mm pistol, upgrades are plentiful early (laser sight, silencer, armor piercing) and ammo is everywhere. I really find it easier to take someone out with the pistol than the sub-machine gun or the assault rifle, and you aren't spamming so much ammo. Maybe later people will be too hardened, but so far it's the most useful.

Found a rocket launcher and man it's HUGE, too big to really carry around and that makes it pretty useless. Maybe it will be needed later, but so far I have it sitting in my apartment (I think it's safe to drop stuff in there).

I've been on the fence about Deus Ex for over the better part of a month, and I have to say you guys have swayed me, going to go to my local gamestop and use up some credit I have for this game. I will post some impressions later....
