Yeah It took me like 15 or 20 tries. It was that tough for me... I didn't have the Typhoon Aug though.

So I was doing the police station after the first real mission

I had gone through the entire building, hacked computers, made my way into every office, taken everything that wasn't nailed down, cleared out the armory, etc. I was in the morgue, I retrieved the node (or whatever) from the guy's head and realized that it was going to let me drag the guy around, so I decided to throw him at the coroner. I throw him a few times, then hit the wrong button and pump a few rounds into the corpse. I rush out of there, past the cop hanging around the lockers area and he just walks right past. I walk through the station, past maybe 25 cops, walk outside and the cops outside open fire, why it let me walk past all those in the station I have no idea. Also, when they opened fire I ran and got away, and it autosaved once the cops stopped pursuit, wiping out any hope of reloading before my wrong button push now that the undercover cop is calling me heartless.

I did go back and kill every cop in the station, but I still wish the game didn't randomly autosave like that. BTW, the P.E.P. gun is a BEAST.

Are you on PC? I had something similar happen to me on the PC where the resolution seemed lower and it felt zoomed in where i didn't have the reticle. i fixed it by changing the resolution and then changing it back.

No, 360. I honestly have no idea what caused it and I can't find a way to correct it. It was all there when I got on the helicopter to go to China, and at some point early in China it must have happened. Unfortunately I didn't catch it right at first, so both autosaves in China have the glitch. Literally everything is missing, no hud, no radar, no mission objective locator, no reticule, and when I go to zoom in with the tranq rifle there is nothing as well. Needless to say I am pretty annoyed considering how much stuff I would have to redo if I went back to the previous save from 2-3 hours before it happened, including having to finish the last half of the last mission in the Detroit, the boss fight with Barret and a crapload of hacks/looting I did following that mission.

Yeah that first boss was tough.

Took me awhile, then for some reason it had auto-saved right in the middle of the fight so that when I died I would restart about 3/4 of the way through with my guy almost dead. Then I finally beat him.

I decided to go with cloaking over the typhoon being a stealth based character and boy was that a mistake. I think I will get the typhoon before the next boss fight, because that fight was hard.

Deus Ex is what would have happened if AP was made by Bioware instead of Obsidian. I thought there were some good elements in AP, but in general it was hokey and not well thought out. Deus Ex corrects those problems, has an awesome art style, and has gunplay that isn't just dice rolls.

That's good to hear. My biggest pet peeve with AP is that it lacks the polish to really put it over the top. From the video reviews I see of Deus Ex, it really seems like a really solid game in all aspects.

I think you just have to learn how to use your tools with the first boss. Pulled it off with a combination of one frag grenade, 1 emp grenade, two concussion grenades, and bullets. I did die a few times, but he didn't seem to have too much health once I had my plan of action figured out.

About the first boss fight.

The thing that ended up working for me in the first boss fight was throwing the gas tanks and explosive barrels at him. Any object you pick up you can actually throw by press RT. Didn't realize that until I did it by accident.

I took the first boss down with 2 frags, 1 concussion, and 10 shotgun shells. I was worried since besides social and strength, I had only been augmenting my hacking, but it only took a few tries -- more of timing movements than anything.

About the first boss fight.

I finally took him down after a few times of getting my butt kicked! Tough but good fun!

What hacking upgrades are you using? Im not bad at hacking but I am not sure what all of the AUGS mean.

Hacking level 3. Helped big time for me.
