zzzz way to go, crappy developer. Way to piggyback the success of another company. Looks like this might be just a filler game to hold people over until IW releases the next one.

Re: Call of Duty 5 confirmed
At least you could "hide" from airstrikes and the copter in CoD4. The description for the dogs sounds like you're practically screwed once somebody gets 7 kills.

Re: Call of Duty 5 confirmed
Dogs?! LOL Actually not a bad idea, but who doesn't see PETA going bonkers over this game?
Maybe that's the idea, knowing that IW isn't doing the game, and the history with COD3, Activision wants publicity to sell the game.Comment

Re: Call of Duty 5 confirmed
That would actually just be awesome if you're camping in the far corner of a map sniping, and through your rear speakers you hear a really close growl, turn around and see a rabid dog there. Then just as he's about to engage in physical remedy, you literally melee attack that son of a bitch!

Re: Call of Duty 5 confirmed
yeah, that's the main issue w/ it. It should be something like 4 or 5 dogs period.
Another cool idea would be some kind of arial poison gas dump that renders a small area of the map toxic for a while.
I agree w/ the general sentiment that this game isn't going to be as special, so I'm more than likely just going to go for a rental. - if that.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Call of Duty 5 (PS3/360)
You guys should do a little research before you go knocking something.
Not that COD5 is going to be a direct true to faith recreation of WWII....but
....http://qmfound.com/War_Dogs.htm
......
....and read the COMBAT section......dogs have a keen sense of smell and hearing.....they can detect smells sometimes a thousand times better than humans and if trained properly.....HIDING IS NOT AN OPTION.

DEVILDOGS my friends......
Oh...and for each of you knocking the WWII concept again....there are just as many(just not as vocal) who didn't want another COD4 or GTA type game that will be picking it up IMO.

IGN Hands-On
Yes, the multiplayer gameplay of Call of Duty: World at War was a pleasant surprise. While it certainly felt similar to Modern Warfare, it did what appears to be enough to keep it near the top of the pack. The co-op is fast and even more intense than the single-player campaign promises to be and the competitive multiplayer packs a similar punch as I remember, but this time with the excitement of vehicles thrown in. World War II might be a familiar battleground for some gamers, but Call of Duty: World at War looks like it could show it off in a whole new light.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Looks like assists are +4 now.
I don't know, though... Re: Call of Duty 5 confirmed
Haha, our friends at PETA are going to have a field day with this. I'm sure they'll be down with the game encouraging players to shoot up dogs. Hopefully the virtual soldiers aren't wearing beaver fur hats or there's going to be some serious trouble.Ryan Spencer

Re: Call of Duty 5 confirmed
Got my beta key today from gamestop.com. Played a few games and can't say I'm impressed with the game at all. I suppose it's kind of fun slicing up dogs that come near but that's about as much fun as I had with the game. Nothing compared to COD4.Comment

Re: Call of Duty 5 confirmed
Can you advise as to what you didn't like about the game? Just curious. I know it runs off the COD4 engine so I would assume it is similiar in gameplay. Was it the WWII theme that you didn't care for?Originally posted by ImTellinTimIf I lived in Waco, I would find you and kick you right in the nuts.Comment

Re: Call of Duty 5 confirmed
It is the COD4 engine but it plays more like COD2. It just feels like a step backwards in terms of gameplay. The setting doesn't bother me at all because I don't care what the setting is as long as it's a good game. I'm not even sure I'll even play that beta anymore because I really didn't like it compared to COD4 which I absolutely loved. I didn't like COD3 either so I guess it's just Treyarch's games..Comment
