So far they only announced 4 so far, they did said that they would match D2 character classes at the least.

          Forget Diablo 3!

Diablo 2 1.13 patch drops today! Over a year in the works. There are some actual changes incl respec and changes to each class.
Patch 1.13 was released on 23 March 2010, and also included a ladder reset. The most prominent change is the addition of the respec feature.

Anyone else rerolling? I spent months of my life playing D2 but just picked up LoD so I'm going to run with a Druid. US East baby!

Respeccing is huge. It was one big downfall of the game, having to relevel up entirely if you wanted to try different builds. Put a few wrong points somewhere and your character can be entirely useless.

I may install again when I've got time in the summer. Don't play online, though - that's a waste of time to me: cheaters all over, and characters that expire and get deleted.

Yeah I played Act 1 yesterday since I was at home sick. Don't think I'll be playing too often, but it's nice to pick up and play once in a while.

Yesterday I was actually #170 in the Assassin ladder for a little while, the only time I've ever had a character appear on the ladder.

WOOT! All about Diablo! Recently started a whole new game also! I never did open/play the dice game that came with the Diablo II collectors set... Probably never will open it.

could somebody explain Diablo II to me? I never played either Diablo and really have no clue what it's about. I heard the loot system in Borderlands was compared to Diablo II and that made me interested in it.

I don't really know how to explain it because I haven't played many similar games. It's really addictive to make different builds and get good gear.

Baldur's Gate for the PS2 is probably the most similar game I've played.

The only thing similar is that both games are basically killing monsters and opening chests to get better items.. Both games are a constant struggle with yourself to get something only slightly better than what you are already using.

I figured there were a lot of differences, I just heard the loot thing was similar and I loved that whole system in Borderlands.

As for the videos, kind of funny but when I was trying to do some research yesterday on Diablo II I actually found those videos and watched them.

I guess I will ask some questions and go from there.

How hard would the game be to get into for somebody who's never played a game like this (aside from shooters and sports games, my only "other" game experience is limited to Starcraft, Mass Effect and Dragon Age)?

How long would it take for me to learn the intricacies of the game?

How does online work? Do I play through dungeons with other people as teammates or do I combat other people?

What kind of difficulty levels are there, and how skilled do I have to be with a keyboard to play the game (like to be good at Starcraft you've got to be good with hotkeys, something I never really was good at doing though to be fair I never tried that hard to learn it)?

Online is not going to be what you expect unless you have friends to play with. It's just all level grinding/trading/dueling games. You hardly find any matches questing, but since the ladder reset you might now.

I haven't had any problems lately finding questing games. Its one of those games where you can jump in, see if anyone is doing any quests and if not jump right out again and have another look.

You could even make a game and say Act 1 Questing and would get people who want to get throught the quests.

As for hotkeys you won't really need that kind of stuff on your initial play through. It really is a click-click-click game. It does help knowing what you are doing when spending skill points and picking abilities so you don't limit your options down the line. Seriously though I would just give it a run and see if you like it.

I would recommend this site if you wanted to buy the game (expansion is a must to get) http://www.g2cdkey.com/home.php
Might seem shady that they only sell the cd key and not the actual copy but I bought the expansion from them (for a couple $) and the key got sent to me and I downloaded the game right off of Blizzard's site.
