Yes you can under open battlenet under other multiplayer. Just make sure when you paste the mod into your diablo folder you rename the original so you can still play the original on real battlenet when ya want.

Some of the things are new bosses, lvl cap raised to 120, everyone has different powers, different gear, more ubers, and every character has a 3 uber powers they can choose from once they reach lvl 90. You can only select 1. More runewords, different mercs, all new crafting system, bigger invitory and stash. Start with the cube, etc.

Really nice mod.

Definitely not... not with friends and family beta starting now.

But your life will be over once it does come out. Schedules to get up at peak magic find hours at 3am time, etc etc

Only, that is ONLY if it can capture the same magic as Diablo 2... but IDK, afraid it might have the "been there done that" feeling.

I know what you mean. I do have total faith in Blizz though because I felt that Starcraft 2 totally recaptured the magic and still made it new and fresh. Diablo can't be a let down.

Blizzard’s Diablo 3 experiments: “Oh, this feels even better with direct control”

“We don’t see ourselves as a PC developer – we see ourselves as a game developer. It’s just that the games that we wanted to make suit the PC platform,” game director Jay Wilson told us. “We don’t believe you can make a Starcraft style RTS and make it Blizzard great on a console. We do believe you could make an RTS that would be on a console, but we would have (to have) that idea, and that spark and that passion to make it.

“One of the reasons why we’re exploring the idea of a console version of Diablo 3 because we feel that the controls and the style of the game lend itself to a console. With some of our early experiments in putting a direct control scheme into the game via a 360-like analogue controller, I’ve been ‘Oh this feels even better, with direct control…’”

Don’t panic though. This doesn’t mean Diablo 3 itself is giving up its classic mouse controls, a la Dungeon Siege 3. It does speak to the chance of other versions further down the road though, which could even benefit the PC. “I can pretty much guarantee that if we decide to do a console version that we will look to support a pad on the PC,” says Wilson. “But initially with release I don’t think we’ll be ready.”

“Soon” Was Too Soon—Diablo III to Arrive in Early 2012

We commonly use the term “soon” when referring to Blizzard releases, because we know that no matter how hard we’re working to reach a target, we’re not going to compromise and launch a game before it’s ready. For Diablo III, we were aiming to launch by the end of 2011. As we’re announcing globally today, our new target for the game is early 2012.

While this news might not be a complete surprise, I know that many of you were hopeful that Diablo III would ship this year. We were too. However, this week we pulled together people from all of the teams involved with the game to decide whether we felt it would be ready before the end of December, and we grudgingly came to the conclusion that it would not. Ultimately, we feel that to deliver an awesome Diablo sequel that lives up to our expectations and yours as well, we should take a little more time and add further polish to a few different elements of the game.

The upside of today’s announcement is that we will be running the beta test longer than we initially planned, which will allow us to invite more of you who have opted in.

Not a surprise the one thing in want them to change is the required internet conection. This is a single player game. If my internet ever goes out im screwed and can't play because of this stupid requirement. Change it.
