I haven't played COD4 in a year (and don't own COD5, I passed on that), but I think this may be similar in speed. Maybe a bit faster, but since I don't remember the details of COD4 well enough hopefully someone else can help.
I like the feel, though it's taking me a bit to get used to aiming, leading, etc depending on the weapons (some have a delay like rocket launchers, etc). It's not all "second nature" to me yet, but the game modes and weapon/backpack variety seem to offer a lot of different ways to play.
Offline it's a more arcade fun open world game. Blowing stuff up, killing EDF when they attack colonists randomly, doing missions, etc.
I was really wishy washy on this, but it's more fun than the demo (for me). I feel good having bought this and keeping Infamous and Prototype on Gamefly. I think I'll enjoy just blowing stuff up in the future. One of these days I'll sit in an empty map and check out the physics more, they're damn amazing.

and only zoom aim if you are at a great distance otherwise you are a sitting duck). It's different than SP where you can get away with zoom aim and taking cover and whatnot. (R-bumper puts you into a cover mode SP only ala GoW for those that don't have the game yet)
