The worst part of these guitars is the strummer. So far, every step to mess with the buttons has been a waste of time. Those buttons look strangely flat though. I wonder if they don't depress.
Touch sensitive would be very nice. But if they're going to do that, it better be reliable. I had bad luck with the Les Paul that came with GH3. I just want something that is going to work for more than 2 months.

I just don't want to have to purchase ANOTHER guitar for my Wii. I already have 2, and all I would want is the drums ONLY. This doesn't look like it's going to happen at launch, however.

I would give it some time for more info to come out about the guitar... the GI article said they're tying to patent something so who knows.

For me, this is a must buy. I bought a used RB game just to play the guitar, and I just don't like the feel of it. Since I know I like GH's guitar parts better and since the drums look great, its a no-brainer.

Exactly why I qualified my guess with a "for what purpose I don't know". Non-depressing buttons would be interesting though.

Another guess, perhaps the fret buttons are now like 3-way switches, where center is "off", pushing up toward the ceiling is for fretting higher strings (i.e. the EAD strings) and pushing down towards the floor is for the lower strings (the DGE strings)?

It might be interesting if there is some kind of sound difference, like an octave higher or something. All the same, I realistically don't know what they could do to the button side of the guitar to get me to buy it. I'm done with the guitar anyway, and the buttons are the best part of the guitar, yet it's the part that sees the most change.

Going with your idea, maybe they let you "bend" notes with those flat buttons. That would be a tiny revolution, but it would get you a little closer to real guitar.

            Re: Mizzoubrent
There is not such thing as touch sensitivity on the left hand in rock guitar, and very little in overall guitar. The sound dynamics on guitar come from the right hand.

Revolutionary to me would mean multiple 'strings' replacing the strum bar, not more fret buttons. More fret buttons would be evolutionary to me.

Video of Guitar Hero World Tour being used at D6.

Looks like the song "Are You Gonna Go My Way" by Lenny Kravitz will be in the game.

If you watch the video at the 2:07 mark, the guitar (what the bass guitarist is using I believe) looks different.

From what I see early in the video of the actual screens, which isn't much, I love the way it looks compared to Rock Band. It just looks more crisp.

The bass guitar to me just looked a bit bigger, heavier. I love the concentration through the whole video, like their brainwashed.......

This looks a lot like Rock Band, lol. Aside from the create-a-song mode, everything else just looks like a mild upgrade, if any at all in some areas. It'll be a good purchase for people who didn't get Rock Band, but on the other hand, it just makes me wonder what upgrades Harmonix will have, especially since whatever they do it'll probably support all old DLC(if they know what's good for them).

The drums are much more than a mild upgrade.

The fact that every song released for GHIV will be a master track is a very nice upgrade.

Someone was telling me that there are rumors floating around that Activision wants to make any song in Guitar Hero's 1-3 downloadable, but I doubt that will happen. They also said that Activision is planning on having DLC to match Rock Band. I'll have to see both of those to believe them, but if it's true...very, very big upgrade.

Maybe I'm buying into the hype, but I'll be selling Rock Band to get GH4, unless I have enough money to own both by the time this comes out.

You think "bouncier, quieter drums" is more than a mild upgrade? Really? Even though there is still no double bass pedal and the high-hat and ride cymbal are still in the wrong places? I guess we can agree to disagree. If someone were that interested in the drums being better, instead of paying 200 for something you basically already have, I'd advise them to go ahead and buy a 400 dollar electric drum set.

I will definatly keep my eye on this, but at this point Haramonix has released the products that I think are superior, and I don't see anything in this that Haramonix isn't also going to probably release with Rock Band 2.

Slightly better drums are just that, better. I also preferred the GH guitar to the RB one. RB2 would have to have a much better song list to get me to buy their game cause everything being equal, it's GH4 for me. And RB2 better come strong to beat a master Eagles track. If the Linkin Park song is from Hybrid Theory it'd be an even bigger hill to climb.
