Re: Rock Band 2
It takes awhile to get comfortable with the orange fret. Practice is the key...on any instrument really. It's the only way to get better.Xbox Live Gamertag: MizzouBrentComment

I play mostly expert guitar, but with some hard for the hardest songs and medium drums. I don't really do the singing ,and do mostly expert bass.WUSTLComment

Election day DLC:
"November 4th will see the release of the most election day appropriate Rock Band 2 track pack possible, featuring three songs from The Presidents of the United States of America. 'Ladybug', 'Feather Pluck'n', and one of my favorite songs of all time, 'Dune Buggy'"

Re: Rock Band 2
I'll tell you what, just downloaded some of the Motley Crue album and the Nirvana pack. A friend and I played "Kickstart My Heart" and most of the Nirvana pack. Awesome stuff. "Kickstart My Heart" is one of my favorite Rock Band songs to play after a few playthroughs and I like the difficulty of some of the Nirvana songs compared to the past ones.Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
On the topic of the bass pedal....
Try to keep you heel raised when you are playing. If you keep you heel down its going to be a lot harder in the future to hit any type of fast bass pedal note. Also your gonna get tired easier.
Best technique is to have you heel up and the last quarter of your foot on the actual pedal. This is how you get a kick off a real set and will definately allow you to play the bass part of songs faster and more accurate.
On the topic of technique... When you are holding the sticks try for the most part to hold them loosely. You want the stick to move freely. The best way I can describe it would be to make your hand the way you would have it if you were about to play a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Then release your four fingers keeping your thumb and your pointer touching. Thats where the stick should be. This will allow you to get a nice roll off the pads, with your middle finger and ring finger there to catch the stick and get it back to the pad for a nice clean rhythm.
Most people see a drummer throwing his arms around and figure the motion is coming from your arms. Thats pretty much entirely wrong. It comes from your wrists and your fingers.
Just try a simple drums roll on your pads with this technique and you should see major difference in your speed and stamina on the drums.
Sorry if I rambled or seemed conceited. I'm actually not that great of a drummer, but figured some nice tips that work on actual set could transcend to RB2.
If something doesn't make sense feel free to ask me what the hell I was talking about, or ignore me completely if you are pissed at the end of this long *** post.
Happy Drumming!I don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Soccer is the best sport on Earth, but most Americans are too ignorant to realize it. I am American.

Re: Rock Band 2
I dont know if there has ever been a better multi play game for people of all ages. mario Kart is great, Golden Eye, Halo etc are fun, but this allows anyone, at almost any age and with or without musical talent to have a blast.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.
You too can be a 5* recruit at FSU.......

Re: Rock Band 2
I tried the kick pedel tips and it seemed to work.
As far as holding the drum sticks, I hold them like it shows in the first picture.

Re: Rock Band 2
I really want this game, but living in an apartment gets me worried about annoying the people below me. My buddy in a nearby apartment building has had the cops called on him twice just because we were playing Rock Band... on a Friday night... at 10:00 p.m.... with the volume down pretty low. I guess the bass pedal for the drums is what does the trick. The cops got there and saw what we were doing and just shook their heads and started laughing.
Anyone else that lives in an apartment or dorm had a similar experience?Ryan Spencer
