Boston - More Than A Feeling
        Free - All Right Now
The Grateful Dead - Casey Jones
        Oasis - Wonderwall
Rush - Working Man (Vault Edition)

Seriously, it's damn near impossible to give only five. I think you'd truly appreciate the Jimmy Buffet pack. Fun to play, fun to sing, and certainly worth having if you'll have a bunch of people playing.

            Re: Rock Band 2

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich recently told KBS Radio why the band decided to offer its music on Guitar Hero while denying it to Rock Band. Ulrich's somewhat cryptic reasoning: "We had to make a decision, and it was one or the other, and we felt that Guitar Hero were more suited for what we were looking for. They were ready to step up on a number of fronts and it's been great." Ulrich did not elaborate on how exactly Activision "stepped up," though he does mention the rumors of a Metallica themed Guitar Hero. Ulrich did not confirm such a game was in the works, instead saying "who knows what's gonna lurk next year, but it's pretty exciting."

So, Activision stepped up and Guitar Hero was more suited to what Metallica was looking for. Somehow we get the feeling that Activision stepped up with a suitcase full of money, which is exactly what Metallica was looking for.

Unless HMX locked a few songs up before a deal was struck (like Battery), that's it. Thanks Metallica for been greedy ****s. Atleast I've got five songs to play.

Son of ****! I love playing Metallica songs. Maybe my favorite band to play the drums and the most frustrating too.

Did you see the type of sales that Guitar Hero: Aerosmith did? Metallica would be stupid to turn this down.

What would you rather do, license some songs to both games, or develope an entire game with a company, have your likenesses in the game, pick bands that influenced you and that you played with, venues, etc..etc..etc?

Actually, GH:A didn't do as well as they expected it to do.

And if you don't care about your fans, then yes this was the absolute correct thing to do. I just wish they'd admit it was about the money. Pure and simple.

It may not have done what Activision expected but it shifted more copies than the last couple of Aerosmith studio albums did, so for the band it was all win.

Of course it involves money as it is their job. I mean you are all excited to go see the Neverender. I guess C&C should not have charged you for tickets, or should have brought it to every cituy in the USA, those bastards

That's a silly comparison. It doesn't involve being exclusive.

Metallica is simply blocking off some of their fanbase with this move. It's not like HMX/MTV wasn't going to pay them. They would've made money (and plenty of it) by being with both.

But knowing Activision, they probably had a load of cash and said it's us and a ton of money or nothing.

I hate exclusives in general and that's where my frustration lies.

                          1. BOSTON - Still the best DLC in the game. The most fun.
2 - 5, Whatever music you like. For me it was the Metallica 3 pack, Motley Crue, Duran Duran, Megadeth. But that's personal taste. But everyone I've seen play the Boston songs just has a great time.

I agree, I also hate 3rd party exclusives. I just think it is foolish to get mad at Metallica for making a good business deal. They wont be the first or the last band to do this as the music games are taking over the sales charts. Not like it is a console exclusive anyway, everyone has access to it.
