Re: Rock Band 2
Secondly, Activision managed to leave out some great Aerosmith songs and threw a bunch of crap from other bands two. Harmonix is actually taking a Live concert and not leaving out any songs from it. Unless I'm mistaken, it has every single one of the their best hits.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: Rock Band 2
Anyone know why I can't download anything Rock Band related from XBL Marketplace right now? I bought Suck My Kiss, Under The Bridge, and Tom Sawyer, and whenever I try to download any of them I get this error message:
"The download could not be completed. Please try again later. Any points you used for this transaction have already been deducted from your balance and will not be deducted again. Re: Rock Band 2
I posted this on the RB Forums for those that were complaining about the cost of the disc...
I see alot of people are complaining about the price of the AC/DC disc.
I fail to see it. You're only paying $2.22/song, which isn't bad for an iconic band such as AC/DC.
But if you still don't get it, maybe this will help. When I look at my DLC purchases, I want the biggest bang for my buck. I want to get alot of play out of the songs I buy. I try not to look at how many songs I get but the length I will get to play the album as a whole.
Here's a breakdown of the albums and technically how much you are paying to play per minute. I think you'll be surprised at the results...
NOTE: If the album already had the song on disc, I made sure that time of the song wasn't included in total time of the album. Also, I just rounded our LAD to 99 minutes since there wasn't a second time.
Band ----------Length of Album---Cost-----Paid Per Minute
Moving Pictures - 40:04 ($10.99) - $0.27/minute
Screaming For Vengeance - 51:03 ($14.99) - $0.29/minute
Blood Sugar Sex Magik - 69:12 ($19.99) - $0.29/minute
Peace Sells...But Who's Buying - 33:08 ($10.99) - $0.33/minute
Live At Donning ton - 99:00 ($39.99) - $0.40/minute
The Cars - 35:40 ($14.99) - $0.42/minute
Doolittle - 36:34 ($18.99) - $0.52/minute
I just wanted to put into perspective that this isn't some rip off. You're actually getting a better value than two other albums we got and I'd imagine most would agree that AC/DC would be more popular/sell better than The Cars or Doolittle.
Anyways, that's just my two cents.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Something tells me there's more to it - because that's the standpoint I've heard from them, but it's easily solved (as I said above).Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
Anybody that just got the game recently either from bestbuy or walmart?Kenny: Ok Vic, I'm ready for some girl on girl action.
Vic: No Kenny, that's girl versus girl.
Kenny: What's the difference?
Vic: Well, in one, one girl wins. In the other....
Kenny: Everyone wins?!?!

Re: Rock Band 2
Yeah, but iTunes has "album only" downloads. There's absolutely no reason they can't come to an agreement that the songs will be "album only" sales.

While it's not a studio album, it's still an album. Which is what we're getting.
I don't really understand what you'd be complaining about.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Nothing to do with Rock Band, really.Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
My response to him (or anyone) who was wondering why this wasn't just DLC where we could buy singles instead of having to buy all 18 songs.
AC/DC simply doesn't want individual songs sold, hence why they aren't on iTunes, because iTunes wouldn't agree to sell album only.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: Rock Band 2
Yes there is a major difference.
GH: Aerosmith had 41 songs ($1.46 per song),more than one band, new venues, new outfits, new guitars, the playable band and was available in Canada and Mexico.
AC/DC has 18 songs, only one band,no word on extras other than it can be exported to the hard drive for use with RB/2 and doesn't seem to be available in Canada or Mexico.
Though of course if I can even get it I'll just use the export thing and trade it in the next day at Blockbuster for $25-30 so it really only cost me $10-15 wich is much better.
It's missing a few signifcant songs:
Big Balls
It's A Long Way to the Top...
Have A Drink on Me
Who Made Who
and these to a lesser extent:
If You Want Blood You've Got It
Show Business
Riff Raff
and these weren't even recorded at the time though even lesser hits:
Stiff Upper Lip
Big GunComment

Re: Rock Band 2
Obviously if they were that significant, they would've been played at Donnington in the first place. It's not like they pulled this setlist out of thin air.
And I doubt you'll be able to export it through Blockbuster because I believe the game comes with a code in which you'll need to export it. And I seriously doubt you'll be given that (RB2 code was on the back of the manual). That'll avoid people being able to rent it and get the songs for cheaper.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: Rock Band 2
I'd say the first 4 were more significant than Heatseeker,Fire Your Guns,Hell Ain't A Bad Place to Be and The Jack at least. Especially It's A Long Way to the Top... but maybe they'll come along eventually, besides Big Balls needs an in game sing-a-long anyway.
No I was gonna buy it at Wal-Mart than trade it in at Blockbuster, they'd still take it because it's still a stand alone game. Local store might have it for rent, they always give out the books with the games so as long as I'd be the first to rent it I could get it. Wal-Mart's website doesn't ship to Canada so the only other option would be to import it for the PS3 from the UK but then I couldn't use it with RB 2 and shipping costs would make cost way too much even if you count Jailbreak as 4 songs. (Assuming it won't be chopped to bits like My Generation was)Comment
