Everything the tech mod at Creative assembly is saying is 9800 Graphics card and 4GB ram if possible to run on high.
For medium and less, you guys should be fine. They want this game to appeal to the masses.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

To take care of my Napoleonic fix, I loaded up Cossacks 2 battle for Europe last night and started a campaign with the Prussians. I forgot how much fun that game was. Its got its flaws, but if you like lining up little soldiers and going at it, its a blast. Had one of the best battles I ever remember having when my 6 regiments of Muskateers, 2 regiments of Black Coats, 2 regiment of Mounted Chaussers, and 1 regiment of Dragoons squared off in the Frankfurt Region against 16 regiments of Russians including 4 units of calvary.
The battle took place mainly in a swampy wooded area where I set up 3 lines of infantry with a square on each end and hid my black coats in the woods on the edge. The Russians came right up the road as I expected except they flanked my black coats with 2 units of grenadiers. It was a blood bath. I held the battlefield with only 1 full regiment remaining along with partial of 5 others. The Russians finally withdrew with similar losses.

And to clarify that's for huge unit scales, right?
With less than optimal h/w you should still be able to run textures on high, but with smaller scale sizes. Even though my system can easily run M2 on the highest settings, I actually dislike huge unit scales (hate chasing down all the extra routed enemies).
Thanks to the water, I think the sea battles are really going to push the cpu/gpu to the extreme (on highest).
Fist, do me a favor, ask that tech if the game is multi-threaded. I need to figure out if I should upgrade my CPU (I've only got a 2.2ghz duo core). If it is, I'll upgrade to a cheaper quad that I can OC.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Forgot to answer this. You should be able to get at least medium, maybe high. Your 8800GTX flies. The only issue is that your CPU might be a bottleneck. Yes, to run it in all its glory, you need the 9800 card. Like they said, they want to make the game accessable to the mainstream, if you could run MW2 on relatively decent settings, you'll be able to enjoy this game.
The game is multi threaded so if you have a 2.4 Duo core, it will run much more smoothly than a 3.0+ single core.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

The multiplayer campaign game will be limited to 1v1, certainly for its first iteration; this is because we want to include playing battles from the campaign. In terms of how it will work, yes, you will be able to save your games and return to them. You could have several 1v1 games on the go so that you can have a series of opponents, enabling you to dip in and out of games against different opponents over a period of days, weeks and months. Bad news......German preview hands on came out and says the AI is abysmal. Not good. I am not going to buy my new rig until I get confirmation that this game plays as good as it looks. My new gaming computer would be pretty much dedicated to this game for the time being.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Wow, worse than M2? That was like outwitting a coma patient. If true that's disappointing since the AI was supposed to be revolutionary.

Yep, foolish to rush out and buy something now. I don't care how pretty a game is, with no AI, well its a waste of money.
Hopefully, they were just playing the Beta and AI will be improved, but no sense in spending a grand on this game and a new system right now, by the time they patch everything up and mod it, I'll be looking at $500 for everything.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Too bad about the AI, it'll probably be a nightmare for the community to fix this time around. I mean the fact that units are able to use interior locations with actual complex environments (not just garrisoning units like before) that can become a battle areas and exist seamlessly with the exterior battlefield themselves is probably very complex.Comment
