I'm totally hyped. I got a Rome TW Gold Edition free online download because I went through Gamestop and installed that last night. I know it's old, but it's fun and just made me remember all the cool campaign stuff we're gonna have when Empire drops!

If they don't already have it in the back waiting, it will be there by 10am Tue when ups drops of there packages.
Also, anyone who pre-ordered online with overnight will get it on Tue also.

Yeah...I did the overnight thing Gamestop offered...easier than having to deal with calling and going over (my GS stores can sometimes get UPS shipments at different times...) It should be here when I get home I hope.

This game is activated via steam, and it wont be activated until the 4th unfortunately. Even hard box copys will have to install steam to play.

thats the only thing I hate about the game. forcing me to install unneeded software just to play the game. I imagine they are trying to cut down on piracy, but this doesn't really help. people will always find a way around it(I bet someone already has) and the people that actually buys the game are the ones that suffer. I know steam isn't really that bad, but I would still rather not be forced to install it.

Yeah, that's how I feel...but from what I read Steam isn't horrible, so I'll deal.

I've been playing more of Rome and it's got me hyped even more for Empire...I miss some of the features I'm used to in Medieval 2 (Rome's older), but the gameplay in general is just fun.

Empire will be epic...

You're right. There are non steam cracks for most games. I wish there was a better way.

I was a bit concerned whether my laptop would play it smoothly and to my surprise it actually plays smooth. Only thing though is the long load times. oh well, game is badass enough for me to deal with it.
