Played a while tonight myself. This game will be in my collection forever. I play for an hour or so then after I get by (finally) an area I quit and move to another game.

That is the beauty of this game. You can just go back and get your fill. Which reminds me, have not played it in a while. Time to start.

But I think I screwed up he last time I played because I harvested the first boss soul because I didn't know any better.

Also I had been upgrading weapons and such rather than upping soul level... which I now regret because I see how powerful ranged magic is. And after staying alive in 3-1 for like an hour before falling through a hole way up at the top I shut it off again.

Would it be in my best interest to start over at this point to regain he phalanx soul for later in the game or does it not really matter? Also when or where do I find the people that give me stuff for the boss souls that I do have?
Hmm, I believe the Souls from the bosses are used to upgrade weapons and buy new spells. I don't remember the specifics of where to get the spells, but the weaponsmith guy is at the bottom of 2-1 by the elevator as soon as you go up the stairs. You need to give him the flame lurker soul first though. The Phalanx soul isn't anything special. It can only create Scraping Spear which is only good for people who enjoy invading others and just breaking all their equipment costing them fortunes to repair.

Maaaan, this game is harder than a roll of quarters....... But I love the challenge though. One of the most underrated PS3 game IMO.

I just hope "Dark Souls" it's "sequel" allows for better abilities to be able to hook up with friends, and not have it roll of the dice luck.

Can one of you guys that knows what you're talking about tell me what level is probably the easiest to do out of 1.3, 3.2, 4.2, and 5.2. I'm completely stuck on Flamelurker. He's killed me probably 25 times or more already and im just sick of it. I keep getting him down below 25% health and then he starts spamming his moves and always kills me. I even have water veil, the purple flame shield, and the ring of flame resistence (although usually not equipped in favor of theif ring for this battle). So im gonna try and tackle somewhere new for awhile, just wondering where I should go. Out of the worlds I have played I thought 5-1 was the easiest level but had the hardest boss of the first levels. And thought 4-1 was the hardest level but had the easiest boss, so I am just confused.

I think im SL 36, have alot of pretty powerful spells, but can't wear the full set of armor I just got after killing Miralda in 1.1 because it is so heavy. I dropped the fluted armor I had because I wanted the armor at the bottom of the pit and i went back to get it and it was gone. So where could I go to find a lighter set of armor.

The key to the FlameLurker is to roll, roll and roll. I prefer light armor as opposed to heavy armor as I believe rolling to dodge attacks is much more vital to staying alive than taking a few more hits with the heavy armor on. I'm not too sure as I haven't played in awhile, but I believe 4-2 is pretty easy too.

Finally got into playing this yesterday. My GF has had it since about a month after release and I just never got around to playing it. I'm pretty much to the end of 1-1. Just need to cross that bridge with the dragon attacking. Really liking it so far. I went with Knight. Haven't convinced myself to stick with it though.

All I've got to say is stick with it. There are times when you're just going to want to give up, but don't. I eventually really got into it, and by the end of my playthrough a few weeks ago, fell in love with this game. Demon's Souls is one of my favorite games of all time now and it was incredibly rewarding to finally accomplish it.

You will get better as you go. Some bosses will be difficult, others will be easy. Personally, the 2-2 boss was the most challenging for me. Once I got past him it was pretty much cake until King Allant.

The 3-2 boss can be tough, but if you do it right, it's not too bad. Overall I'd say the toughest levels to get through are 1-4, 5-2 (tedious), and 4-2 (depending on your build). While the toughest bosses for me were Flamelurker, Allant, Doran, and Maiden Astrea.

But good luck, it's a great game.

I love it so far. So if I already like it this much and everyone says it only gets better, I'm pretty excited. I don't think it's a game that I'll play this and only this but I'll be coming back to it quite a bit.

I would love to get this game, but with my limited play time not sure I want to get a game that is frustrating like this sounds. I need more time to tackle something like this.

I haven't found it frustrating so much as thrilling, for lack of a better word. You almost always have to have your wits about you while playing. Any simple mistake could result in your death and the possible loss of a lot of souls.

I played enough to get past the first boss and level up. Need to figure out where to go from here.

1-2 is what i'd say. Boss can be intimidating at first but the level is pretty short and not too difficult.
