Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
Thanks...I'll keep at it, picked this up so i had a quality single player game for over Christmas/New Years (taking like 11 days off)...it's cool, just a little overwhelming. Fun though, and I'm enough of a gamer to push through. I could definitely see how this game is not for any casual gamer types, they'd be frustrated and turning it off pretty fast!Comment

Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
It's maddeningly addictive. Sucks to gain a ton of souls and then die, followed by another death and realizing all those souls are gone!
Just beat the first boss and saved in the nexus...gotta see how I want to use my souls to upgrade....Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
Just beat 1-2, still have my body! Got my strength up to where I could use the bow, but gotta see if I like that enough. My royal's soul arrow is pretty sweet, and I got a shield that blocks 100% melee, so with the rapier I'm pretty solid.
Once I got into it, and got past the "ZOMG I don't want to gimp my guy's stats" it's really cool. You can just farm souls if you want.
Quick question, I have my original rapier, is it worth upgrading or should I wait for some drop later on?Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
You'll most likely run into a better weapon before long, but there's no harm in upgrading it to +2 or +3 ... just don't go crazy. When you do run into that better weapon, you don't want to kick yourself for having "wasted" a bunch of ore. Some of the standard weapons (and shields) even at +3 and +4 aren't as good as some of the better stuff you'll run into.Comment

Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
I just got this game and I died quite a few times trying to move along the stairs, but I finally reached the boss and killed it. Also, these bloodstains are funny. I see some people like accidentally jump/roll off.
SpoilerAlso, at one point in the castle where you see the archers at the top of the wall. When you go up the stairs to reach the top and make a sharp turn, you go into a room then a message says "His weakness is his back", is it possible to kill that knight? I died within seconds and went back grabbed my souls and went elsewhere.Comment

Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
Ok I don't know how this souls system works. What can I do with souls other than buying weapons? Can I sell items? Also, I lost about 10000 souls by now trying to kill this boss.Spoilerthe giant arachnid spider who shoots fireballs
EDIT: Actually, how do I know what section I'm on? People are saying things like 1-1, 1-2, 4-1. I heard the part I'm stuck on above is 2-1 and I should be going to 1-2. I am so confused!!Last edited by mikenoob; 12-25-2009, 01:44 PM.Comment

2) You're in 2-1. If you leveled up enough to get to the boss in the first place, you should be fine. Use ranged attacks on it, like arrows and spells, and stay back.
3) No you cannot sell anything.

Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
1) Levels go clockwise around the Nexus. 1-1, 1-2, etc. are the first stone; 2-1, 2-2, etc. are the second one, so on around to 5-1, 5-2, etc.

SpoilerOn the part with the dragon and you gotta run. I'm on the last stretch I think and there are some archers and a blue eyed knight. I can take those out normally, but I don't have much room to move because of the dragon. So, I run out of stamina or get low and the knight just starts beating on me. Any tips?Comment

I know just what you mean about feeling like your back's against a wall of fire, but I've never actually been killed by the dragon there.
And you can also just kill the dragon in that level, from the second tower, but that also requires a bow (and TONS of arrows, be prepared).
Good luck!Last edited by NEOPARADIGM; 12-25-2009, 05:49 PM.Comment

Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
Get yourself a bow then, ASAP. If you don't have magic, they're absolutely vital.

SpoilerOk thanks for the help, I'll try this in a bit after I get some more souls. I just found a bow and heavy arrows on the second tower. How do I buy more arrows if I need more? I don't understand how I can take out the archers without alerting the knight. Once I get past the range of the fire the archers would see me and the knight is just standing right next to them. Also, I found a colorless demon soul. What is this for? Oh ya and at 1-1 I helped out some knight who was surrounded by enemies and I followed him around a bit and he killed most of the enemies for me. I accidentally attacked him and he said something like I thought we were allies! So I continued to hit him and eventually killed him. He drops the mausoleum key. Where is this mausoleum?Comment
