This game looks fantastic and I'm definitly thinking of picking it up when it comes out here.

For those who have it - is it worth it for an offline only player? Sounds like they put a lot of focus into the online portion.

Absolutely!!! In all honesty you'll probably play the majority of the game without help from other people online. Playing offline will also prevent Black phantoms from invading your game. The online component is pretty cool and does help but it's not crucial to play the game.

It's an awesome game any way you look at it

Wow. WHERE DID THIS GAME COME FROM? Holy crap the melee looks awesome, the ONLINE is scary and the bosses look awesome.

Picked it up yesterday, if it wasn't for my mid-terms today I'd be playing it non-stop. The game is quite challenging but a lot of fun.

IGN gave the game a 9.4

Living in the sticks has forced me to order the game today from amazon. Reading all the stuff that is involved with the game it sounds like a lot to absorb and a little intimidating so I ordered the deluxe edition with the strategy book.

Picked this one up on a whim (the same kind of whim that got me into Valkyria Chronicles, btw). Should be interesting.

I got it at the local gamestop, but got lucky to get the last copy before they sold out. They're apparently holding some copies in the stores, but not many.

Okay, for anyone that has this, I have one question:

Where do I improve my stats? I read in the manual that you're supposed to talk to the "maiden in black" (probably the same one that revives you after the tutorial), but I've looked all around the Nexus and can't find her. Is she somewhere else?

I ask because I've been trying to go through the first level with no stat increases through souls at all. I get that the game is challenging (oh yes, it definitely is), but I can't help but feel I'm missing something.
