Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
i have completed 1-1, 1-2, 2-1. I have spent alot of time on 3-1 and 4-1.....4-1 is a great level for earning souls. The entires section prior to the first fog will earn you around 10000....buts its not easy at all.
this game is so hard that you need to level up your player to be able to handle the enemies. i lost over 50000 souls on 3-1, so i went and did 4-1 a few times to earn that back. Take ranged attacks or forget it....the souls arrow will do the trick.
3-1 is extremely hard. But turn off the lights and play it = FTW
you should at least give people an idea of what the spoiler is.....what if this had to do with the ending? Good thing its about 1-2 and not really a spoilerComment

Your right, I didn't think about that when I posted it. I didn't want to give away how to kill a certain mob.Comment

Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
This game is great. Very challenging until you find each enemies weakness.
Reminds me a bit of Dungeons and Dragons.
If you are looking for a good class, I would recommend the Thief. A good fighter who also has good Magic potential (which you will want for sure) and is great at getting those backstabs.Comment

Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
Just in case you need this game to get even harder, check it out on Halloween:

My guess is that everything is going to shift to pure dark tendency. The bit about the rewards being better has me interested, though.Comment

Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
Basically, when the world is white, the enemies are easier to kill, but, give less soul/weaker drops. As the tendency shifts towards black (from dieing alot as I understand it) the enemies get harder to kill, but, will give more souls/better drops.
Also, there are certain events that are triggered when the world tendency is pure black or pure white.
Speaking of which, the world tendency is supposed to be pure black for the All Hallow's Eve event. I read on the Demon's Souls forum that you might have to log in a few times if your world tendency is not all black to start with.Comment

Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
Just beat the game tonight. I'm immediately starting a New Game+. Loved this game! It is in contention with Batman: Arkham Asylum and Uncharted 2 for my Game of the Year so far.
On a side note, I was in Best Buy today and they had about 20 copies of this. Seeing how the game was hard to find during its initial release, it looks like Atlus sent out plenty more copies to meet demand.Comment

So can you play this game online with another person fighting beside you? Or is it only this new online mode i've read so much about?Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
Hmm..gamestops review says otherwise though
The most direct way of helping other players, however, is to join them on their quest. Demon's Souls' ingenious implementation of co-op play is hardly straightforward, though it is incredibly imaginative. Players exist in one of two forms: body form and soul form. If you are in body form, you have full hit points, while in soul form, your hit points are generally halved (though a terrific ring you can find early on will give you a boost). You start your adventure in body form, and when you die, you are resurrected in soul form. Because you are only restored to body form when you defeat a boss or use a relatively rare stone, you'll spend most of your time as a soul. When in soul form, you can drop a soul marker; a player in body form can then activate that marker to summon you to his or her world. At that point, you join the player in his or her realm and tackle the challenges at hand together. If you are in body form, you can summon either one or two players, for a maximum party of three.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Demon's Souls (PS3)
i was reading the manual the other night and saw this, it does say you can play co-op, but you have to have a blue dragon stone or something. it seemed kind of confusing, and i didn't bother trying to understand it since I just recently got my slim and haven't bothered playing anything online with others yet.
in unrelated news: i found a ring in the first area you're allowed to go in that changes your HP in soul form to about 3/4's of the bar, instead of half, it's great.Comment
