One of the greatest games I've played on my PS3, someone hit me up to do multiplayer, I haven't really gotten into it yet!

Just borrowed this from a friend. Seems pretty good so far, trying to learn the ins and outs right now. Any tips for a beginner?

If you do a private match, can you still unlock achievements?

Most of them require you to be in a public session.

I was able to get the achievement for doing all of the bandit camps in one session by doing them all in private first and then going to a public session and completing only one. I honestly had no idea that was going to happen. I planned on just doing them all in a public session since it didn't open up after doing them in a private session.

That's right, I think I read about that little trick for this particular achievement.

But the Blackwater to Escalera achievement still has to be in a public session, yes?

I think that is correct. I haven't seen anything online to the contrary anyway. I still need to do that one. Supposedly you don't have to have the fastest horse in the world to pull it off.
