Re: Red Dead Redemption
I would rather it go back a generation, or do an alternate storyline along those same times... keep it in the old west, that's what gave this game its charm.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
How epic would it be if
SpoilerYou were from the north at that time, or an area that isn't New Austin, and you keep hearing about this cowboy outlaw down south that is running train on everyone and the last mission you have to go save his life because he is set to be murdered and it's John Marston you have to saveEagles | Phillies | Sixers | Flyers

Seeing people post in this thread again today has me inspired to play through the game all over again. I think my game save was at 96 or 98 percent but haven't touched in forever so might as well start from scratch
Would love to see another game like this whether a new storyline or something intertwined like the suggestion above.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
Think I may consider giving this game another run since I didn't really give it a chance when it first came out, mainly due to not having much XBOX time while the game was out.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
I got a new XBOX and all my saves were lost, so I get the chance to start all over again. I won't get the same feeling I did the first time I played the game, but that'll be okay. Every game feels awesome when you first play it and experience, then there is the experience of playing RDR for the first time. It felt so amazingly different and actually next-gen worthy. Hard to believe it's almost this games 2nd birthday.Last edited by canes21; 02-09-2012, 07:08 PM.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I really need to get this again. I made it across the river and lost time to play it and eventually sold it. I know.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
I kno people out there say games like Mass effect and skyrim are the best games of the current gen, but to me RDR is probably the best game I've ever played. Let me first say that I HATED red dead revolver (basically last gens version of this game) and I'm not a fan of the whole western thing, but man is Rockstars unique GTA style of play PERFECT for this type of game. Stealing horses, killing guys at the poker table, basically doing we the hell you want fits this setting perfectly because this is what things were basically like back then. The story and gameplay are fantastic, the graphics are beautiful, and once you load up your game, there are zero loading screens and did i forget to mention the animations in this game are the best in any videogame! The game is seamless, cannot wait for GTA V.Last edited by johnnyg713; 02-10-2012, 12:24 AM.Comment

On the contrary, this has been one of the best games I've ever played. The sense of exploration and discovery is some of the best I've ever encountered in the video game world. I've never felt so integrated into the cities I was visiting. There seemed to be so much detail, so much accessibility. I think the simplistic nature of cities back then also helped, for it was easier to feel in touch with entire towns. Whereas, as accessible as people try to make a cyber-New York feel, it always tends to fail because 95% of the buildings won't be enterable.
One of my favorite parts of this game may have been traveling to Blackwater for the first time. I had no plans of coming in contact with any sense of modern society. It was a treat to see the old West merging with what we know now. Blackwater may as well have been one of any number of small towns that still exist today, only in its infancy.
Overall, Red Dead Redemption was just flat-out immersive. As most of you have been playing this game for a couple years, you're all likely very well versed in all its intricacies. In my case however, there are still moments where I'll be walking down the street during a rain storm, look to my left and see hanging laundry blowing in the gentle wind and it makes me anxious to see where video games will be going from here. It's only going to get better.Comment

Thinking about buying the game of the year edition. Bought it and never finished, not sure why. Plus I want to play Undead DLC.
I don't remember, is there a lot of difference between 360 and PS3? I bought it on 360 but thinking of going PS3 this time around.Comment
