Re: Red Dead Redemption
Any PS3 guys, or mostly 360? I played on the 360 my first go around, thinking of picking it up for the PS3. Never finished the game, couldn't get into Mexico for some reason... just wasn't feeling it. The game was awesome, til I got there, and I lost interest in it
I will be going HUD less too, that sounds awesome.Comment

The only thing better than no hud would be no pausing to see where you are either... gotta play with the physical map next to you for reference!Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
I agree, I hope for the next game in the series we have an alternate map option where pressing Up on the D-Pad when you have the HUD turned off will bring up the traditional map."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Red Dead Redemption
This thread and talking with Chase about this game on BF3 is making me want to start another playthrough also.
The first time you walk out of your room and into McFarlane Ranch at the beginning of the game is one of those video game moments that is etched into my head. The way the screen refocuses with the bright sun to reveal all the people around you doing their everyday thing. Dust kicking, horses neighing, etc. that set the tone for the entire game for me.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
Right? I've wanted to replay games before, but with this, it's almost a compulsion. It's weird. I got L.A. Noire, and hadn't played it at all yet, so I started that up, but while it's pretty good, it doesn't immerse your nearly as well as RDR. Easily the most immersive game I've ever played. And it's not even close. Sorry, Skyrim.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
I think it has to do with such an epic developer developing such an epic landscape and genre of game. I mean, how many good westerns are there? Not man that I can think of. And when R* gets their hands on anything, it quickly turns to gold. I loved the setting, the characters were nearly next to none for me, and the story amazing.
All around best game I have easily played this generation, and that may not change, unless GTAV is epic too.Comment
