The only thing I'm hesitant about here, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think R* has ever announced any games at E3.

Believe me, I hope like hell we get something official, whenever or wherever that may be. I just do not know if this is a hype machine to get us interested in E3 or legit.

Yes you are correct. Rockstar usually doesn't show at E3. In fact, there were rumors last year that RDR 2 may be unveiled @ E3 2015. Turned out Rockstar wasn't even there (again).

The major difference here is this is the first time in a couple years where there are numerous sites reporting this. There is more information than I've seen when you do a search for RDR 2. I know this, due to my time on the sh*tter and occasionally searching for "Red Dead 2".

Yeah I mean, I'd guess at some point RDR2 will likely happen but I've been Google searching for a while and it seems I've been getting those weird website results for over a year, from websites that appear to have nothing to do with reputable gaming information.

Man I'm missing this game lol. I've had my ps4 for a while and wish they would come out with a remastered version or something but I doubt it will happen. I just hope the rdr 2 rumors are true

You should just pick up the OG and play it again; it's worth many play-throughs as it's DEF in my Top 10 of GOAT, in my polls.

Until Rockstar drops the bomb (if & when), play more Red Dead!

I moved my 360 down to my basement with only this game. I have just arrived in Mexico and man is it beautiful (for the 3rd time).

I still say June is gonna make many many people happy. I know there are a lot of reasons for people to have their doubts, but I still have a strong feeling about E3 this year. So many reports they keep saying Rockstar will be there in a "Big Way". We will see.

RDR 2 cannot get revealed fast enough for my liking.

I agree. It was so great! The only thing close for me is the giraffe scene in The Last of Us.

I kind of missed the segmented level reveal in GTA V. While freedom is awesome, there's also something to be said for immersing oneself in the initial setting before the reveal of something new and spectacular. RDR nailed that.

I'm with you, I'm not sure I can think of many better video game moments than some of RDR's transitions. For me, the ride home to the farm (out of Tall Trees) may take top billing.

GTA V was great regardless, but I wonder how different the experience would have been if the desert couldn't be accessed until you meet Trevor, for instance. And maybe not northern Cali until even later. As it was, I just couldn't resist. The very first thing I did was travel through the entire state. If I'd done that in RDR, I think I would have lost a lot of the impact.

The contrast of the different regions also made RDR's reveals so f'n awesome. Granted New Austin and Mexico were somewhat similar in terms of terrain (your typical desert vibe) the change in music, chatter, citizens, animals, etc added so much.

And then of course once you go up to Blackwater and ride through the Great Plains and eventually up to the snow in Tall Trees - good grief. The pace and flow of the game is beautiful and perfect to me.

I also think there's something to be said for the fact that you were on a horse and more "in the wild" compared to being in a car in GTA. Riding through the Great Plains when there's nothing in sight but a herd of buffalo and a bird or two overhead - just you, your horse and the land. And of course in places like Tall Trees with bears and cougars, you never feel safe. You won't find a feeling like that in GTA. But that "in the wild" feeling, that also added to the changes in scenery throughout the game and I think that's why I always felt much more immersed than I did in GTA.
