One thing I love in Grand Theft Auto 4 is when you shoot someone while they're driving. What usually happens is that they slump forward dead, and the car appropriately sways around while honking endlessly -- due to the combination of the driver's sudden loss of steering and ability to brake, and the goofy fact that the driver's head tends to hit the horn. So far, RDR has an even more intricate cause-and-event connection due to horseriding. You can shoot a guy on horseback, and watch him smack his head against the back of the horse's head. Or maybe shoot the horse, and watch it shake its rider off in reflex. Or shoot a fool in a way as to make his body flop over the side and get caught in the saddle.

Seriously, thank goodness that we've got so many games before this to tide us over. Just got ME2 yesterday along with a new 360, The Show and GOW3 in March, and a few other good looking titles. I've gotta get all of them finished (aside from the Show obviously) before RDR comes out, because it will consume my soul from the looks of it.

Under my digital command, John Marston enters the secluded prairie house. In seconds he spots the last remaining thug, holding a knife to the young woman's throat. And under my expert command... he runs into the side of the door frame like an enthusiastic drunk. The bandit makes a swift cut, slashing the girl's neck open. Swearing, I activate Dead Eye, and paint the sonovabitch with targets. Six little bullets riddle the murderer's body, and he collapses to the floor. The distraught father dashes in, begins to weep. I loot a chest in the corner of the room - and then, just for laughs, I loot the dead girl in front of her grieving dad. Hell, this is the Old West.

I agree. I forgot that this game comes out on my girlfriends birthday. That's disappointing. Oh well.

You have an an old friend that needs you to drive him to the state capital because he just had eye surgery. He needs to be there at noon to file some emergency legal papers preventing him from being imprisoned due to a mix up. You will then need to wait all day and possibly until late into the night or next day for them to process. You feel terrible about it so you are taking her out the night before and sexing her up all night into her birthday morning but then you need to leave on your journey.
