I'm closing in on 100% Completion, I'm up to 97.9%

I think I have a few more bounties in Mexico, and then it's the race against the clock to clear out all the US gang hideouts in less than 24 hours.

I came across some dude who was saying his buddy was being lynched and he didn't do anything wrong. So I wen't to investegate, and used Dead Eye to shoot out the rope. It was just outside of Armadillo, on some random tree.

Also is it wrong of me to shoot a guy while he is taking a pee in the bushes? He got off his horse ran to the bushes to take a piss, and while he was doing it I shot him in the back of the head.

That happens a lot, the hangings that is. I swear it's the same guy coming up to me saying THEY GOT MAH WIFE AND I AIN'T GOT MONIES, CAN YOU HELP ME?

It sucks that John dies, I don't like Jack, he has sort of grown on me, but after spending all this time playing as John, it just sucks.

Also for xbox does anyone have any avatar unlocks?? I have a sombrero from shooting a guys hat off. And a red t shirt with Read Dead Redemption written on it from a chest I found in a broken log house somewhere in Rio Bravo or South Cholla Springs.

Feels sort of weird playing through as Jack now. I don't like him nearly as much as John, and it feels weird going through finishing stanger missions that I had started years ago as John. Also I feel like I have to play both characters differently. With John I had him at the highest honor level, but with Jack I feel like he needs to be seeking vengeance, and right after I beat the game I rode into Blackwater and starting murdering dudes.

Anybody else go out hunting at night? This is where I'm making the big bucks, heading out to the middle of nowhere (with or without bait) and shooting any animal that comes around. One night I killed 11 wolves, 10 coyotes, 4 deer, 2 buck and like 20 armadillos. You can rake in the dough, and it's not as if you ever have to purchase bullets if you make sure to loot all the people you kill during missions.

I've never gotten to that guy's wife in time on those. It's always too late. I still kill all of the people who lynched her. Then while the husband is crying, I loot her dead body. Is that wrong?

The ****. Some guy who challenges you to a hunting game or something... I ran into him during the night. He was hunting a raccoon and the raccoon ran under my horse.So the guy misses and shoots my horse dead. Fair enough to say, I hogtied that bastard and killed him. It's too bad I couldn't think of any other more vicious way to kill him. But yeah... now I have a random horse that came out of no where that comes to me.

Wish I had my Kentucky Saddler back though. RIP Whitey.

Was anyone hoping that Johns son would get with Bonnie somehow? I know she is a little to old for him but its back in 1914...No one really cares.

Also why cant Jack get an prositute? I understood the whole being faithful to your wife thing but Jack has fresh balls ready to go.

I was kinda bummed about John dying at the end, but it made perfect sense in the context of the story (he was loose end and in the eyes of the Government I guess he had to go), but getting revenge on that prick Edgar Ross was very satisifying. It's too bad I couldn't hunt down that other bowler hat guy, but I made up for it by killing Ross' Wife and Brother. As far as the storytelling, voice acting, and cinematics, I would say this game is up there with Uncharted 2.

Random thoughts :

Favorite Characters : Seth & Professor MacDougal.

Character I hated : Abraham Reyes

Favorite quote : John, "When someone tells me to **** off, it's always my concern boyo." (Paraphrased)

Favorite mission : And the truth will set you free. Where you settle things with Dutch.

Hardest mission : Civilization, at any Price. Escorting the train, this was such a pain in my ***.

Now it's time to put this game down for a week or two and then start up a new one and get 100%.

My thoughts on the end:

I had already read somewhere that there was a big change in the game. I didn't know what it was, but as I was doing the last missions I commented to my wife that it felt like those missions should have been at the beginning of the game, then I realized that his son was evolving into what he was.

Also the son was reading an adventure about a man heading west to take revenge on his father, so I figured that this was the change. I actually thought that it was going to leave it open for RDR 2 in which Jack has to go kill the Marshalls, so I was surprised that you got to do it now.

I failed the last missions so before I did it again I went and saved another save file, I don't like Jack or his voice or anything, so I would rather play as John.

I regret not to have been so devilish as some of you guys in killing the wife and the brother, and I also f'd up the last quick draw at the end of the game and didn't even get the shot off. Are you able to actually get the shots off?

Unlike some of you guys I liked GTA IV but this game blows it out of the water, and mainly its cause of the little ****, like killing animals and picking flowers and the random events. But also the main thing, and I hope it stays forever is the SAVE system.

The last thing that I will say is that I was ready for it to be over, and I think that was a function of the last missions which were just the "day to day" tasks. It just seemed like it ended so abruptly with no build up to that final mission. I don't know if they meant to do that or if they had to cut missions out for shipping.

I thought actually since John had said that they didn't know if they would make it through the winter, would be that he would go rob a bank and die there and his son would continue in younger John's footsteps.

Fun fun game. I've been playing it all weekend and I'm about 33.3% done.
