I've done that one, thanks...I want to knock out all the other stuff, but want to beat it too. Now I can just beat it and worry about the rest after.

Any hints on how to kill a bear with the knife? Specific weapon to shoot it with a specific number of times? Dodging a lot?

I'm at a loss, every time I try I get mauled, sometimes multiple bears get me.

if you want to go the cheap route, you can shoot them once in the face with a shotgun then knife them, but it's not too hard to dodge them and then get some good slashes in.

So I restarted the game and have been screwing around with cheats just to have some fun. Mexico unlocked, but the North didn't, now every time I take a stagecoach to the North it immediately falls off the face of the earth and I fall from the heavens to the ground above. It's silly.

if you want to go the cheap route, you can shoot them once in the face with a shotgun then knife them, but it's not too hard to dodge them and then get some good slashes in.

A shotgun works? I'll try that, at this point I'm not above the cheap route haha

One Henry Repeater round to the face, the next slash should kill it.

awesome, i hate trying to mess around with friends and get as high a bounty as possible, only to have it all ruined by casual aim douchebags who would be garbage without the assistance.

casual aim-is that the default? You mean there's a multi player advantage for gamers who use casual aim? What about the hardcore matches? (just bought the game yesterday)

Are there certain weapons you can use online that you can only get through playing the single player game?

EDIT: OK, I see that Normal is the default targeting mode.

Kill one during a mission instead of just running around the woods. There are several missions where you are forced to face off with a bear. This will prevent the gang-up effect prevalent in the wild. I did it on...

the second mission for that neurotic scientist, the one where you and the Indian have to break into Dutch's base. As you climb the mountain you are forced to fight a cougar one on one and then a bear. Since you're on a ledge, the bear can't run. Shoot him in the face with any high-powered weapon except the Buffalo rifle to weaken him and then chase him around. He'll run and he's easy to corner. If you screw up and the bear kills you, you re-spawn right before the fight and can try again.

yeah, normal is the default, but you can tell what aim a person has because the game will say "so and so expertly/normally/casually killed whoever"

what the hardcore games? Can you use Casual in them?

hardcore games are expert aim only, no matter what setting you have on.

So, why don't you just play hardcore, and not worry about the casual shooters? I realize you have to be a certain level. Do you level up more online by playing the single player mode?

because I'm talking about free roam. I don't really enjoy playing the other games because you get almost no experience for playing them so it's not worth the frustration.
