Re: Red Dead Redemption
check this out guys...this game is just so pretty..
It's game engines as art, innit? In a week where Red Dead Redemption proved its sales dominance throughout the summer, with DLC announcements just yesterday, Digital Foundry set about completing its own RDR project: the world created by Rockstar San Diego, displayed via the beauty of time-lapse video.Comment

I wish EA could put progressive lighting half as good as that into their football games.
Anyway, I have some noob questions so forgive me bc I'm still new at this game....
I noticed that I automatically downloaded the new downloadable content that is the 6 new missions co-op pack today. Where do I go to access these new missions though? where are they in free roam? Can you play them in single player mode like you can the gang shootouts in a private free roam session, or are they only available through multi-player? Do I need to be at a certain level to unlock them or something like that? I've just spend the past 20 minutes unsuccessfully searching for the new missions in free roam...thanksComment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
Alright I just beat the game and I think it's time for me to talk about it :P
SpoilerWow..... just wow. I was shocked at how this game ended.... so sad. I just had a feeling the wouldn't let John off so easy, but to end it where he get's brutally owned.... man. I'm guessing that Abigail died a peaceful death or she was traumatized and horrified that John was gone?
The funny thing is, immediately when I saw John get shot like that, I went back to the dashboard thinking it was a choice I made because I shot the men that were pointing the guns at me. I restarted the game only to find out John had to die...
But playing as Jack should be cool, I like his normal clothes better than John's. I don't know if this has been mentioned at all, but this ending would make a killer DLC chapter where Jack goes and finds the men responsible for this. Doing just what John did to find Bill and Javier, asking questions, doing tasks, etc. Then in the end, you get the choice to kill the two police guys or let them live. I would buy this DLC in a heartbeat, but I doubt they'd make it though
All in all, I'm 50/50 on this ending, I was looking forward to working on the Ranch and raising Jack.... oh well.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Re: Red Dead Redemption
ending
SpoilerI dont understand how some folks are disappointed in the ending...Whether he tried to reform himself after he got a family, John Marston was an outlaw. The only way for him to go out and the only way for him to truly be redeemed was in a blaze of glory. Having that ending was true to the western genreSpoilerIt was, except it felt really forced the way they handled it. Why not kill him after Dutch is dead and John hands his pistol to the Marshall? The only obvious answer is so that the game can introduce Jack so you can keep playing after it is over. I'm fine with John dying, but it felt like really lazy writing the way they pulled it off.Comment

They exploited his love for his family and basically made him go after his old crew. ALl along the objective was to kill the whole gang. Marston was part of that gang, so the Marshals new what they were doing all along. After Dutch was killed, I always assumed a higher authority said "No, Every one must die" so they went back for Marston after a while had passed.Comment
