The dem...err...Case 0 felt kinda clunky but I did make a bat with a nail in it so that's something.

      Re: Dead Rising 2

I loved the original Dead Rising. I was disappointed that Frank wasn't coming back and was thinking I might pass on DR2. But after playing Case 0, I'm back on board. It feels a lot like the first one, which to me is a good thing. One big improvement - 3 save slots. The single save slot in DR1 was really frustrating.

Anyone know if your progress in Case 0 (level, PP, $, etc.) carries over to the retail game?

I can't access the achievements from my work CPU, but are their achievements for Case 0?

I can't wait for the 28th to pick this game up, one of my most anticipated in 2010. I'm surprised that Case 0 never made it to the PS3 too. I heard that there is also going to be a demo releasing soon, which should be interesting on how much they allow you to do in that vs. Case 0.

It's interesting to see all of the folks that are psyched for this game. I played the first one, and didn't finish it. It had a good story, great concept, but the controls were horrid. I didn't even finish it due to the clunky controls, slow response time, and quirky collision detection implementation when surrounded by multiple zombies. I downloaded/purchased the Dead Rising zero on XBox Live in the hopes they had provided tighter controls, but based on zero, it feels like the original Dead Rising, with nigh the same graphics (barely upgraded), and with worse voice acting. This will definitely be a $15 buy off eBay for me.

Only reason I didnt finish the first one was all the go here, go there, go here. Never got to enjoy just exploring the place. Not to mention the text was like this size.

For $5 Case Zero was worth it and fun. I've gone through it a few times and enjoyed each go around. But to be honest, I am unable to let bad things happen. I just have to save everyone every time.

That is EXACTLY why I didn't finish it either.

If this game removes that time/mission factor, I will buy, but if not it's rental or nothing. After reading the xbla review though, I know there is a timer, so that was disappointing to me.

If you remember the original previews they never had that in the game and the journalists were loving it, then a new preview came out close to release I think on ign outlining the new time/mission mechanic and even then there were wary that capcom may have ruined the game by doing that.

It just brings way too much structure to a game that doesn't really lend itself to structure. If I want to dress up like an idiot and carefully plot out creative ways to off a pile of zombies I can, but lose the game in the process kind of thing which is just dumb to me.
