You just have to know how to play the game ahead of time. I plan on just rampaging through the early parts of the game 2-3 times to level up and collect some stuff before I restart "for real".

I was gonna do that but too into trying to make it to various people and save them. The time limits are intense, prioritizing people and willingly skipping some because you don't have time...

I think I'm just gonna play through and then next time hit some of the things I missed.

I do like how the survivors can run through the zombies fairly easily and don't always get stopped where they need help.

I'm around the start of 3-1, at this point it's addictive and I'm still learning the controls and combos...need to build more awesome weapons as I get them. Need to find some of the hidden combo card posters.

Heads up, on gamefaqs there's a thread that has the Zombrex locations so you don't have to buy it from the pawn shop.

There's a good interactive map I was looking at last night, has locations of just about anything with pictures to make things easier to figure when you click on them.

Me either. For instance there's no way I would ever jump across the lights in Americana considering the jumping is fairly lame.

Oh, totally...I hated jumping the lights for the Zombrex, but it was worth the 10ish minutes of falling cause of crappy jumping detection.

There's some guy in the beginning that I can't seem to kill. He's in the bathroom area, and jumps at you with a knife and keeps on jumping and it's annoying as hell. Any tips on how to kill this creep?

Psychopaths are all fairly tough, especially at the beginning. General strategies include:

Painkiller. Take two vodkas and put them in a blender, the result will heal 5 blocks and make you more resistant to damage.

Quick Step. Mix OJ and soda, makes you move quicker.

Certain weapons work better, but generally Knife Gloves and Spiked Bat are good bets.

Bring a survivor posse. Give the survivors a weapon (guns especially), give them food to heal when they need it and swarm the bastards.

Wait until you earn a few levels, have more health and get more moves (especially dodge).

Watch, learn the psychopath's pattern, dodge their attacks then counter.

Run away to heal, the psychopaths usually will stay in their area so you can run away to heal and as long as you don't leave the area (load screen) the psycho will be just as you left them.

Yeah, the healing tricks work well, and I agree with the spiked gloves.

The psychopaths are pretty creepy though, it's quality. Definitely some deranged individuals out there.

Game was going for $35 to $38 with S&H tonight on eBay, still couldn't justify a purchase of it at that price as I never finished the first one.

I was away on a trip since this thing released and it is still sealed. Reading a lot of the impressions, this game is just sounding more tedious than the first one. Why can't there be a fun zombie game and not one that is a such a pain.

Yup of course. Can't mod on consoles. Other than UT 3.
