Good to hear they are fixing the AI for Freeplay. I play on hard, but even so they sometimes totally forget about the main objectives.

Re: Brink (360/PS3/PC)
I got a quick 15 mins in with Thaima1shu before i had to leave for work. Lag free and fun even though i was sucking it up.
You get dropped quick in this game, just 2 head shot bursts with the AR will drop you. I also love the no aim assist. This has to be the first FPS on 360 that i've played without it and i like it. feels more PC like.
I like that you can switch teams and create fireteams to get in games with your friends.
I seriously don't get the complaints about this game."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

Re: Brink (360/PS3/PC)
Gotta hand it to Splash Damage, it looks like they really want this game to succeed. Switching to competitive games has helped the lag (thanks for the tip!!), but hopefully this update helps even more.
Update: PSN multiplayer services have resumed in much of the world, which means you're now able to play Brink online! We've also thrown the matchmaking changes outlined in the original post below, so the next time you sign into PSN, you should see the updated match settings in Brink.Original post: We have been working on updates for Brink to address the lag issue that some people have reported they were experiencing. We have made a configuration change for 360 users (which will be available to the PS3, once PSN is up) that alters the number of human players when matchmaking for "Campaign" and most 'Freeplay' modes to eight total human players. This new configuration will allow those connecting to and hosting matches (particularly those with lower upstream bandwidth) to more reliably find and connect to quality hosts via the match-making process – resulting in less lag and more fun. This change is being rolled out today and will be available worldwide. For players who haven't been experiencing lag, we'll still support 8 vs 8 on all maps via a new 'Big Teams' configuration in Freeplay, and through custom settings in Private matches. There is no download required for this update and it will be available automatically the next time you log in to play Brink and launch either campaign or standard Freeplay matches. This should allow players new to the Ark as well as veterans to find quality matches suitable to their preferred play style. We are also releasing an incremental update for PC players via Steam that addresses AI, GPU, and server issues. See the full release notes for more information. Many of these fixes are being included in the full update for the 360 and PS3 versions. We would like to thank you for supporting Brink and for your continued feedback. To show our appreciation for your support of Brink, we will be making the first DLC for Brink available for free when it is released. This DLC is planned for June and will offer additional maps and new content for players. We'll continue to provide announcements about the next title update, as well as the first DLC release as that information becomes available.-Splash Damage & BethesdaComment

Re: Brink (360/PS3/PC)
I love how disguises actually work in this game unlike some others - the only ways you can be outed in this game are:
- Give up your disguise by doing anything aggressive toward the enemy team (that's a pretty broad brush)
- Painted by an enemy operative
- The disguise victim is going to see their name above a supposed team member, so it's a dead giveaway
- Die
There's no proximity giveaway when you're near an enemy - they'll still see you as a normal teammate even if you stand right in front of them. Also, getting shot does not cause you to lose your disguise, so if the heat's on you might still be able to make an escape - as long it's not your earlier victim that was shooting at you!Comment

Re: Brink (360/PS3/PC)
They've made it default to 4vs4 and if you want more human players there is a big team option.
And I can't wait for the free DLC next month."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

This is the perfect game to play during this PSN fiasco as well. I can rank up playing bots, and because their AI level is so low I have to be a one man team. I am going to be lethal once PSN is back up.Last edited by LingeringRegime; 05-14-2011, 03:39 AM.Comment

So many things this game does well. Love how when you are near the objective you get XP, why couldn't any other FPS developer figure this out?

Re: Brink (360/PS3/PC)
That makes sense. The AI seems to be getting a lot tougher on the other side, not sure about my teammates though. I will say that they seemed to be defending objectives a bit better.Comment

Trust me, there is lag, but I stick to the 5 vs 5 competition mode which cuts down on the amount of lag.Comment
