Who picks pokemon based on effectiveness?

F that. I always chose mine based on who looked the coolest.

Over the years, I think I've went each direction.. Fire, Water, and Grass...

I know I won't be getting a DS for a bit, but does it allow online trading or anything, along with the online battles ?

I picked Totodile just because, I also felt like having the fire pokemon early on makes it too easy.

Can't wait to play through HG then go pick up Black/White, will also try to find FireRed just because even tho HG still goes through that area.

All three of the Joto starter pokemon are pretty cool.

Ahh.. I used to come home from school and rush to the TV and get ready for this, every evening..

That was the greatest site back in the day. I use to use it all the time whenever I played Pokemon Gold like there was no tomorrow.

I don't know what TV provider you have but if you get the channel Boomerang, they play Pokemon episodes every weekday from 5-6 CT. I've been recording them and it's been a blast from the blast.

Same here. It is still an amazing site.
I never was huge on the TV show, at least in the later years like now.
I liked it best when they were at Johto.

                    Re: The Pokemon Thread

The original pokemon cartoon is probably one of the most underrated cartoons out there, it was awesome. I may set it to record now that I know it's on.

I had no idea Ash is still is in the cartoon series until I just looked it up, I thought he left or something after awhile. I'd still never watch besides the original one and maybe Johto.

Both of them are very good. Completely depends on personal preference.
I still wonder in the cartoons how Pikachu has lost any battles. He should be level 83242497832498723

Try Marilland for strategy guide. I'm not gonna lie, I feel like a nerd posting on this thread Good thing, there is a lot of people in this thread like me though.

I stopped watching Pokemon after the characters' voices changed/new narrator for Ash, it just didn't feel the same for me.

I'm curious about this as well. Would be awesome if you could trade starters/eggs/etc.

Yes, online does the job in Pokemon games nowadays. There's this Global Trade System as well as a populated community for battles.

If you want to trade with specific people (for example, someone from OS), you just need to exchange friend codes. It's not possible to trade eggs, however.

I thought we could trade eggs, I remember trading them in Pokemon Pearl. Online battles are fun, but when someone's connection sucks, the lag sucks.

Hm, you're probably right, haven't tried trading eggs in a while lol

Either way, online trading and battles are available for use.
