Re: Ni No Kuni(PS3)
So when in battle, how much do you have you controlled character move around. I'm used to just using a defend option when I know an attack is coming, which I know this game has too, but do you run around the battle field too in order to avoid attacks? It felt weird running around the battle field last night when I was playing while also cycling through my battle options. I probably look pretty spastic.

Re: Ni No Kuni(PS3)
I do a little bit of both.
I get this feeling (maybe those with more experience know this to be true or not) that every enemy has an opening.
I've noticed it with Ruff and the dumb little bird thing that acts like a baby chick. I don't necessarily wait for them, but when I see it, I go all in. Same with the first guardian, which Drippy makes obvious to you because it's technically still a tutorial.
Otherwise, I'm running around dodging their little claws and bites (I've only faced the first set of outside animals and the first guardian). But I don't wait too long because once I did that waiting for an opening and Ruff surprised me with a trick that nearly knocked me out. Learned from that mistake.
But yeah, I figure anyone watching is gonna think I'm crazy."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I'm specifically talking about watching the wild animals just scratch themselves and allow me to walk up behind them and land blows.
I'm playing on Normal too. It doesn't happen all the time. I just took it as coding in opportunities."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. I want to play this game right now. Having a blast with this. Been playing for 7 hours and while I've gotten a lot done, I feel like I'm just starting my adventure. Even Drippy said so when I finally started heading to the Grove.
I'm also doing all of the posted jobs and bounties.

Re: Ni No Kuni(PS3)
I think it's safe to say I've fallen in love with this game. Of course one of my concerns has already been brought up with the AI during battles, but that aside, everything has been a treat so far.
I wish I didn't start Xenogears a couple of days before getting this. I've been splitting time playing both RPGs.Comment
