So when in battle, how much do you have you controlled character move around. I'm used to just using a defend option when I know an attack is coming, which I know this game has too, but do you run around the battle field too in order to avoid attacks? It felt weird running around the battle field last night when I was playing while also cycling through my battle options. I probably look pretty spastic.

When I kite with Oliver I am constantly running around (which I do for the tough/boss fights.)

Otherwise it's pretty much just beat everything down with dino.

I do a little bit of both.

I get this feeling (maybe those with more experience know this to be true or not) that every enemy has an opening.

I've noticed it with Ruff and the dumb little bird thing that acts like a baby chick. I don't necessarily wait for them, but when I see it, I go all in. Same with the first guardian, which Drippy makes obvious to you because it's technically still a tutorial.

Otherwise, I'm running around dodging their little claws and bites (I've only faced the first set of outside animals and the first guardian). But I don't wait too long because once I did that waiting for an opening and Ruff surprised me with a trick that nearly knocked me out. Learned from that mistake.

But yeah, I figure anyone watching is gonna think I'm crazy.

For the opening that you speak of... Do you mean when they don't attack back for a small period? If so, there will be an action bubble that pops up over heads that says chance in it.

Hmm, I only noticed that with the first Guardian.

I'm specifically talking about watching the wild animals just scratch themselves and allow me to walk up behind them and land blows.

I'm playing on Normal too. It doesn't happen all the time. I just took it as coding in opportunities.

Ah yeah, that's just random I believe where they sit and do nothing. I didn't notice it, but I kinda just barreled through the random encounters.

Ha. I guess I was trying to prepare myself for the tougher enemies by learning some moves.

I want to play this game right now. Darn work and a social night life.

Having a blast with this. Been playing for 7 hours and while I've gotten a lot done, I feel like I'm just starting my adventure. Even Drippy said so when I finally started heading to the Grove.

I'm also doing all of the posted jobs and bounties.

I think it's safe to say I've fallen in love with this game. Of course one of my concerns has already been brought up with the AI during battles, but that aside, everything has been a treat so far.

I wish I didn't start Xenogears a couple of days before getting this. I've been splitting time playing both RPGs.

Finally shipped from Gamefly. Of course, this is like two days after I got completely wrapped up in Skyrim again...

Oh well, I'll have to suffer .

I will have to research Xenogears bc this game is getting me more interested in playing this style of RPG again.

PS1 game available through PSN. Excellent game, only surpassed by a couple RPGs on PSN.

Wiki link in case you are curious. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenogears .

If you enjoy JRPGs I'd say it's near a must-play.
