Played a little during my lunch break.......I wonder how long this game is......By the in game clock I logged in just over 20 hours. And I know I can't be near the end, it is way too many quests left to do. It is like a never ending fact finding mission.

At a certain point the side quests end and you will be forced to go to the deep roads. After the deep roads though it is ton of new quests pop up every where. One thing I like about the side quests though is that they all tie into the main story line and some of them actually effect the story line.

Some people in the game tick me off though with their shadiness and I just kill them out right LOL. I be like I am tired of dealing with your shady BS, time for you to die LMAO.

Over all though this game is awesome, very awesome. The way the storyline is written is just awesome. They really didn't hold back at all.

Best RPG I played in a long time. I am actually enjoying this game more then I did Mass Effect 2 or the 1st Dragon Age. First Dragon Age seemed to have consisted of nothing but over sized dungeons, mazes and stuff of the like.

This game however so far, no long dungeons or mazes. Which is a good thing.

So I was unable to get this game to due to a lack of money (stupid hockey equipment) and I was wondering, is this game an open world type game or is it a game where your path is somewhat restricted?

This game

What I like.

The dialogue tree

I like they speed up the combat.

I like the story.

What I don't like:

I really didn't like how the companion armor was handled.
(I want the old system for equipping armor and weapons onto me and my companions.)

Have ALOT more cave designs and dungons.(Needs more varied environments, not the same copy pasted dungeons.)

The combat is just button pressing, dynasty warriors style.( I really enjoyed the tactical combat of the first game. Some combat in DA:O was really strategic and required working out.)

Just finished the Deep Roads. Went back to my home and opened up the letters on my desk only to see about 10 side quest letters. I just laughed an closed out the menu before accepting any of them. Not ready to have a million markers on my screen yet.

So many shady people and back stabbing going on.......It is as though the designers took their real life experience and put it in videogame form LOL.

Man if it wasn't for the fact I grew up in Chicago, after playing this game I wouldn't ever want to go to a big city. Can't trust nobody, everybody back stabs everybody and it is just one big free for all.

What difficulty you playing on Gotmad? I started on hard (pause) but had to switch down to normal. I was getting killed.

Yeah I had to do the same thing. I simply couldn't beat the boss in the Deep Roads on Nightmare. Even on normal his power is INSANE.

But anyway little over 33 hours in now according to the game. And I discovered the following:

Yes the Fade is in the game. Fear not fellow OSers, it is rather short and straight forward. No maze or other type of BS. However choose WISELY who you bring into the Fade with you though.

Merrill is a crazy bitch......But I must say I do love the conversations between her and Isabella though. Hell if you want some laughter, pair Isabella with a female. Don't matter who, Isabella is a riot.

Fenris reminds me of the Quanari from the 1st Dragon Age. He is a kill joy because he takes everything way too serious and never joke around. He just calls it as he sees it.

I do find it kind of funny how they reuse the same cave areas over and over again. Don't know why they did that. But in a way it does making going through it easy again because after the 3rd or 4th time in it, you would have remembered the lay out.

33 hours? My God! This also has me rethinking playing on Hard.

It took me close to 10 tries to kill the guy the mercenaries told me to so I could get into Kirkwall, and I've had people get knocked out several other times during this. I think having the enemies pop up in waves throws off my planning and use of abilities.

Ok I must say after the Deep Roads, the difficulty of enemies kicks up 10 notches. They are starting to become a pain in the butt. I spent the past 30 minutes stuck at the edge of a cave I been in at least 8 times now because the freaking enemy now is like on steroids.

And their archers now are freaking DEADLY. If left unchecked, the enemy archers alone can rip your party to shreds with cross fire. Game is no joke after the Deep Roads.

The enemy be coming to whoop your arse like you a prison bitch I swear.

interestingly, one of the first mods I saw go up for DA2 was the ability to remedy that situation so you never had to deal with Carver no matter what class you picked.
