They sell Saints Row 1&2 in a double pack for $25 to $30 bucks....
Both Deft and Blzer are PS3 only so they only have access to SR2 unless they were to go the PC route. At this point, does it really matter if they do go back to play the first one since the third one does lack a bit in story?

From what I heard from reviews the story is so outlandish it doesn't really matter.

I don't think the story is the reason why people play Saints Row.

I made it to the first safe-house last night and those first couple of missions were a blast and hilarious.

Well I guess I'm a rare entity that plays it for the fun as well as the story...Because in Saints Row 3 they mention SR1 and SR2, etc. Even Julius....in which a lot of people wouldn't know who he is, if they didn't play part 1, or 2.

And so forth, I agree the story can do a lot of things.........But continuing to add on from the previous games is great. I guess I'm 1 in a million who can appreciate the substance on top of all the outrageous action...

I appreciate Saints Row for what it is as a series..

I can tell there's a progressive story (from the very beginning of the prologue, in fact), and it's a shame that I don't know how we got to where we are. But SR1 and SR2 are on 360, which I don't have.

EDIT: I just noticed CaptainZombie addressed that already. I'm not really apt to gaming on PC with just my laptop, so I'm going to have to go with what I have. For the most part, I won't ever neglect a game or movie series and their predecessors if there is some sort of story continuity (see Uncharted for games, Saw for movies, etc.). This one, however, just had to be...

I bought the double pack back in spring. Played through a very small par of SR1, and finished SR2. SR1 didn't age well IMO, and I had more fun with SR2.

I've heard the loose end from SR 2 (which in turn was a loose end from SR 1) isn't tied up in this so kinda gave up on story intrest. You think they would've made that bat just for him.

The two downloadable packs for SR2, ended it's story....Thats' why 2 parts of the map remained white until you downloaded them...when they took Altar down and finally ran over the city!!!

And 360 for a lot more.....especially games like this that tie in with others....

Sorry you missed out man....but enjoy SR3 you won't be disappointed...

Blzer, Saints 2 is also on the PS3. Not sure if you've heard, but with your online pass you can download SR2 off of PSN for free starting next week I think. SR2 was a lot of fun and recommend it.
